2011 Travis Wood
What is Cyberbullying?
“ An aggressive, intentional act carried out by a group or individual, using electronic forms of contact, repeatedly and over time against a victim who cannot easily defend him or herself” - Smith, 2008, p. 376
These electronic forms can include text messages, phone calls, emails, chats, social network websites, photos, videos and websites
Why Is it an Issue?
Alarming amounts of children around the world in the classrooms you teach have a mobile phone and most of those have access to the internet. In the UK 91% of children just 12 years of age have a mobile phone!
It can happen 24 / 7 technology doesn’t stop!
It can force students to not even want to come to school
Examples?
Can even lead to suicide??
“You better not come to school because nobody likes you." - (Tomazin, 2007).

and programs for solving issues
(Campbell, 2005, pp. 71- 73).
