I would like to thank you for the experience to go to Encounters with Canada. It was the best week of my life. I made TONS of new friends all over the country. We got to watch "Question Period" which I found super interesting. I got to visit the art gallery and the museum of civilization which were definitely highlights of my trip. I didn't want to leave at the end of the week, I even miss the uncomfortable, plastic beds! The best part of this experience was all the great friends I made, and the amazing memories and laughs I will cherish forever! Thank you so much! Maria Dalton
* Maria won this opportunity in the French Student Excellence Award program that we have, she was the Grade 10 winner and attends Summerside Intermediate.

Volunteering is part of our identity as Canadians – we value civic participation and embrace a spirit of community. The tremendous efforts of our 12.5 million volunteers help make Canada a vibrant, safe place to call home. Across the coun-try, Canadians are getting involved and leading positive change in a variety of ways, all of them vital – from quick bursts of mobile micro volunteering on smartphones to front-line disaster relief efforts overseas. The work of volunteers is es-sential to maintaining healthy, dynamic communities at home and around the world. National Volunteer Week is all about taking time to recognize the incredible contributions of Canada’s volunteers and letting them know how much their efforts are appreciated. We want to thanks the individual volunteers across Canada who dedicate themselves to improving their communities. Volunteers have a passion for getting involved, they take to support the causes and organizations that are important to them, and they make an in communities across Canada and around the globe. For many of us, March 31st marked the end of the 2011-2012 fiscal year. It is a hectic, stressful time for many trying to complete projects and finish reports. Maybe we all need to slow down a bit. To help, have a look at Zen Habits, a blog about finding simplicity in the daily chaos of our lives. It’s about clearing the clutter so we can focus on what’s important, create something amazing, and find happiness. Written by Leo Babauta, Zen Habits features one or two powerful articles a week on: simplicity, health & fitness, motivation and inspiration, frugality, family life, happiness, goals, getting great things done, and living in the moment. If you are interested in sampling Zen Habits, read The Beginners Guide to Zen Habits: A Guided Tour
