Applicant Eligibility
Public entities– Only one application per qualifying public entity
will be accepted
Funding
Five-Year Plan allocates $1,792,818 $100,000 maximum for each eligible applicant No match requirement
Tire-Derived Products are final or finished products ready for sale to the public that are made from recycled 100% California waste tires.
A minimum of 2,500 tires diverted Up to a maximum of $10 per tire
Project Eligibility
(Number of Tires Diverted) X (Cost Per PTE) = Grant Amount Example: 2,500 – Waste Tires DivertedX $10 – Cost Per PTE $25,000 – Grant Amount
Calculation
Evaluation1. Staff will determine applicant & project eligibility
2. A publicly noticed random selection process will be conducted (If more funds are requested than available)
3. Applicants will be given grant numbers as they are received by CIWMB
4. Random selection numbers will be drawn for each applicant & will determine funding order
5. A list will be developed & sorted in funding order
6. Then, two list will be established – one for North & one for South
