A Prayer for Our Church
The Capital Campaign Prayer Team asks you
to pray this prayer in your daily prayers
Almighty God, perfect and holy in every way, as you led the
Israelites out of Egypt lead us from our own bondage. Teach us
not to grumble, but to be thankful, never wanting to retreat, but
always moving forward to what you have in store for your people.
All things work in your time. Let us continue to have faith in all
that you do through your Church. We pray God that you will lead
the people of First UMC to your promised land. We love you
God and we need your perfect love. In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.

dream to collect 1,000,000 (1 Million) new, age-
appropriate books for pre-school and elementary

Conference). - This breaks down to roughly 83,500 books per
District and roughly 1,000 books per church. Please join us in
this mission. A drop off box is in the Commons.
FUMC is collecting Used Books for adults and
especially for children. Please leave your donations in

Don’t Forget Your Mothers or
Epworth Children’s Home Next Sunday!
Next week is Mother’s day. We will buy flowers,
call our mothers and maybe even take them out
for lunch. Most of the more than 75 children at
Epworth Children’s Home will not be celebrating
Mother’s Day with their mother’s. Instead they will be
surrounded by loving staff and volunteers who walk with them
daily to provide spiritual, educational, emotional, and physical
support. Faithful Methodists from the past and present have
invested in comprehensive care for every child who calls Epworth
home. As you consider what God is calling you to give to support
our church’s ministry to children remember Christ’s command to
let the little children come to him. He embraces them, welcomes
them, loves them and, teaches them. Epworth is answering this
call to let the little children come. Your generous contribution to
our church’s ministry enables transformation to for the children
who call Epworth home. For more information about
Epworth Children’s Home, visit them on the web at
www.epworthchildrenshome.org

would like to participate.

a.m. n room 221 of the education wing. Just follow the smell of
fresh doughnuts! Please contact Rev. Kyle for more details.

TODAY at 6:00 p.m. FUMC will have its second Taize
prayer service in Hut Chapel.
The Taize Service originated in France in the 1940s. The
focus of the service is the power of prayer. Prayer is a serene
force at work within humans, stirring us up, transforming us,
enabling us to walk in the footsteps of Christ, while being in
the presence of God. Come and join us for a quiet time of
meditative prayer and music. (Childcare will be provided)
