STAFFORD GRAD MONTEZ LIVING THE DREAM WITH THE HOUSTON ASTROS
In what he described as a “dream come true”, Stafford MSD Class of
2008 graduate Justin Montez is the second-most important Justin in
the Houston Astros organization.
Like the rest of us, Montez enjoyed the Astros’ 2017 World Series
Championship as a lifelong loyal fan.
In January, the Astros hired Montez in their IT Department.
“Working with the team, I have gained a new appreciation,” Montez
said. “It’s a complete honor to be part of it. We are here from 8 a.m.
until after the game, to get the stadium going, and it all pays off.”
Montez’ dear friend was the late, great Stafford High head baseball
coach Michael Mesa. They graduated from SHS together in May 2008.
Montez is the co-founder of the non-profit, Mission4Mike, which works
to ensure that Coach Mesa’s legacy lives on.

SMSD ADDS SHAREIT APPWE HAVE EXCITING NEWS THAT WE’VE RECENTLY IMPLEMENTED SHAREIT, AN
ANONYMOUS REPORTING PLATFORM FOR OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY!
MANY SCHOOLS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY ARE IMPLEMENTING ANONYMOUS
REPORTING TOOLS AS A WAY TO CONNECT WITH STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY
MEMBERS WHO MAY BE FEARFUL OF SPEAKING UP OR FEEL LIKE THEY AREN’T ABLE TO
USE THEIR VOICE ON A PUBLIC PLATFORM.
WE CHOSE SHAREIT OVER OTHER ANONYMOUS REPORTING TOOLS BECAUSE IT
ALLOWS COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO SUBMIT NOT JUST THE ISSUES AND CONCERNS
THEY HAVE, BUT ALSO THE GOOD THINGS THAT THEY SEE HAPPENING IN OUR SCHOOL
COMMUNITY.
WE BELIEVE THIS SUPPORTS OUR HOLISTIC APPROACH TO BUILDING A SAFER
SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT FOR EVERYONE. WE WELCOME YOU TO GET INVOLVED AND
SUBMIT WHAT YOU’RE SEEING, HEARING OR FEELING - WHETHER IT BE GOOD, BAD OR
SAD. THE SHAREIT WIDGET CAN BE FOUND ON THE HOME PAGE OF THE SCHOOL
WEBSITE IN THE LOWER RIGHT HAND CORNER. WWW.STAFFORDMSD.ORG
