SUNDAY’S RECAPJake Arrieta threw a complete game and limited the White Sox to just two hits in the Cubs 3-1 win.The Sox were limited to just one hit through the fi rst fi ve innings and did not have a baserunner advance past fi rst base until the sixth (Carlos Sanchez double).Jose Quintana suffered his ninth loss despite allowing three runs on eight hits with zero walks and nine strikeouts over 7.1 IP … the outing was his ninth straight quality start.Adam Eaton drove in the White Sox only run with a bunt attempt in the sixth, scoring Sanchez … Tyler Saladino (single) recorded the Sox only other hit … the Sox were 0-1 with RISP.

CELEBRATING THE 2005 CHAMPS The White Sox will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the 2005 World Series championship team over the next four days. SALE-ING ABOVE THE PACK Chris Sale, who did not pitch, represented the White Sox at Tuesday’s All-Star Game at the Great American Ball Park.The reigning American League Pitcher of the Month for June, Sale ranks among the American League leaders in 2015 in strikeouts (1st, 157), strikeouts per 9.0 IP (1st, 11.84), WHIP (1st, 0.95), average (3rd, .206), ERA (7th, 2.72) and IP (8th, 119.1). He struck out 10-plus batters in eight consecutive starts, tying Hall-of-Famer Pedro Martinez (8/19-9/27/99 with Boston) for the longest streak in baseball history.Sale is the fi rst pitcher since 1900 to record 10-plus strikeouts in seven consecutive road starts in a single season (Elias).
