Industry Mitigating Actions

• Lines are bleeding – rates are being pushed up – that will continue in 2010

• Lines are closing loops and idling capacity to avoid overcapacity – that will continue, because of:

• High oil prices… again

• Capacity not carrier owned - redeliveries!!!!

• Slow steaming – industry wide slow steaming accelerating – again due to high oil prices

• Despite a decrease of 12.6% in containerized cargo moves in MX in 2009, Lazaro Cardenas increased its import and export operations by 6.8% and 38.9%
