III. Introduction of Visitors and Public Questions and Comments Public questions and comments - The Board of Education encourages participation
at public School Board Meetings. Under normal circumstances it is designed to
allow everyone to address the Board. The following rules shall apply to protect
the public's right to be heard when there are many persons who wish to address
the Board of Education:
a.) Each speaker shall be allowed a presentation time of not to exceed
5 minutes.
b.) There will be a limit of one presentation per person.
c.) Organizations or groups shall be represented by one spokesperson.
By a major vote of the Board, the rules of the By-laws may be suspended for special
reasons at any particular meeting. The Board also reserves the right to adjust the
length of time intended for community participation.

EDUCATION MEETING BY ADDRESSING A WRITTEN REQUEST FOR
INCLUSION OF SUCH ITEMS TO THE SUPERINTENDENT, CAPE FLATTERY
SCHOOL DISTRICT, BOX 109, SEKIU, WA 98381, NO LATER THAN THE
TUESDAY THE WEEK PRECEDING THE MEETING.
Any item placed on the Board Agenda by any of the above mentioned persons will
be scheduled as information and discussion only. The Board of Education retains the
discretion to determine whether or not to move such items for consideration as an
item for Board Action in a regular Agenda of any subsequent Board Meeting. In
making such a determination, the Board may request a postponement of discussion
to permit adequate time for study, analysis, and response by District Staff. The
Board may also remove such an item from the Agenda when it appears that no one
present at the Board meeting wishes to discuss the matter, or if the topic is more
appropriate for discussion in Executive Session. The Board of Education reserves
the right to determine when it will consider subjects that are appropriate according
to law for discussion in Executive Session.

o Experience: During my career I have taught many grade levels ranging from third to ninth grades.
My real passion is instructional leadership!
Worked as literacy coach, gifted coordinator, instructional coach, vice principal, principal
and now director of learning. These experiences have allowed me to participate closely with
students and teachers in the learning process, which is at the heart of our enterprise

Don Jenkins – Neah Bay High School Counselor
o Education: BA in Psychology from Idaho State University. Master of Counseling in School Counseling
from Idaho State University
o Experience: Classroom guidance experience for Kindergarten through grade 6, taught a Careers
course to grade 8. I provide information that grades 9 though 11 need to prepare for college or
career readiness.
To see students grow and become more confident academically, personally, and socially is
greatly rewarding and I maintain that ability by working with them through guidance,
individual counseling, and group work

o Experience: Certified in Early Childhood in Arizona and am completing my ninth year teaching in

o Education: Completion of procert in progress Concordia University, Portland OR 2014. Masters in
Curriculum and Instruction Math Content, Walden University 2010. Masters in Curriculum,
Instruction, an Assessment Teaching Credentials, Mathematics Endorsement 2008, highly qualified
in math, Concordia University, Portland, OR 2007. BS in EDU.
o Experience: Mathematics teacher at Neah Bay High School (NBHS) from September 2007 to June
2015, During that time my leadership and skills fostered a turnaround in the mathematics
department. This turnaround took the high school from a 20% passing rate in 2007 to an 82%
passing rate in 2014. For this last year (2015-2016), I had a contact with OSPI with the Office of
Student and School Success as a Mathematics Instructional Coach. In this job I helped schools
strengthen their core mathematical instruction.
Nathan Chollar – Neah Bay High School Art Teacher

Ellensburg, WA Graduated: December 2008 Associates in Arts and Sciences Olympic College,
Bremerton, WA Graduated June 2005
o Experience: My art teaching experience includes middle and high school work for Chimacum School
District, and elementary school work for Bethel School District. It is my belief that visual arts is
essential to our education. It is also my belief that we can all improve our art skills, so long as we are
given appropriate instruction and an approachable lesson. As an art teacher for your school, I will
teach students art techniques, design principles, and art history
