Government!Ruled by an awesome warrior king who called
himself “Ghana”, which means “warrior king”.Very strong military which protected the
kingdom’s borders and trade routes, and helped to upkeep the capital city and major markets.
Ability to use iron weapons to control the gold and salt trade. Used iron-tipped spearheads, lances, knives, and swords to give them a technological advantage over the bone and wood weapons of their neighbors.
Camel caravans brought goods, copper, dried fruit, salt, clothing manufactured goods exchange for Kola nuts, hides, ivory, gold and slaves.
The gold came from Wangara people.
The Wangarians needed salt so they traded their surplus of gold for the essential salt.
