There have been many protests in the United States in the last few weeks: The Women’s March, the March for Life, LGBTQ Marches, Anti-Trump protests, etc. Would you ever participate in a protest? What are the issues that are the most important to you?
During the Industrial Revolution, urbanization created problems for people living and working in cities across the world. Political changes led to improved conditions for these people.

• The Industrial Revolution is a major shift in world history.
• Before the Industrial Revolution, most people worked in agriculture (farming) and lived in the country.

Political Changes During the Industrial Revolution•A new economic class emerged during the Industrial Revolution called the “middle class”*. • In 1832, Parliament gave the middle class the right to vote with the Reform Bill of 1832. •Eventually, workers were also allowed to vote, but women were not. •Why might other countries refuse to allow women to vote?
