Adult Inpatient Unit• Provides care to men and women over the age of 18.
• Treatment is focused on stabilization so that care can be obtained in an outpatient setting.
• Major focus on discharge planning and arrangement for outpatient support.
Adolescent Inpatient Unit• Professional staff provide clinical and educational services to help
adolescents (age 12 – 18; other ages by exception) learn how to cope with stress, set goals, communicate with parents and peers, maintain self- control and improve self-reliance.

Behavioral Health Services Definitions
Electro-Convulsive Therapy (ECT)• Largely utilized for patients diagnosed with a major depressive disorder after one or more unsuccessful medication trials.
• 1-3 treatment sessions are initiated while patient is on the inpatient unit.
• Post inpatient discharge, patient may receive anywhere from 2-14 additional treatment sessions as an outpatient, based on individual medical necessity.
• ECT treatment is normally performed 3 times per week.
Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
• For adolescents 12-18 years and older.• Program is initially 6 hours per day, 5 days per week-
decreased as clinically indicated; during school year, program’s teacher works with applicable school district.
• Decreases length of inpatient stay by providing aftercare in an intensive ambulatory setting.
• Prevents inpatient admission- via crisis stabilization, when clinically appropriate, diverting to intensive ambulatory setting.

Adult Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
• For adults 18 years and older• Program is initially 6 hours per day, 5 days per week-
decreased as clinically indicated. • If clinically indicated, and acceptable with insurance, 3
hours per diem treatment may be incorporated into treatment plan.
• Decreases length of inpatient stay by providing aftercare in an intensive ambulatory setting.
• Prevents inpatient admission- via crisis stabilization, when clinically appropriate, diverting to intensive ambulatory setting.
Outpatient Group Practices• Provide short term outpatient treatment based on medical
necessity.• Offer individual, couples, family and group services.• Age populations treated are children, adolescents, adults,
geriatrics.
Outpatient Mental Health Clinic• Provide long term treatment based on medical necessity and
ability to provided appropriate clinical referral / placement.
Residential Rehabilitation• Offering two levels of residential supervision, 24 hours/365 days
per year, or 10 hours/day – Monday through Friday.
Behavioral Health Services Definitions
• Behavioral health consultation service provided to Emergency Departments.
• PES staff perform behavioral health level of care evaluation assessments on patients presenting to an Emergency Department, following request from Emergency Department physician.
• Based on clinical outcome level of care evaluation, patient recommended for inpatient, partial hospitalization program, outpatient behavioral health services, or discharge to home.
