October at BYSC – always an en-
joyable time of year as well as a
very important month in our club’s
calendar. The Annual Stockholder’s
meeting is scheduled for Thursday
October 30th. I encourage everyone
to attend as the meeting agenda in-
cludes the election of four new
board members for three year terms.
The meeting will also include
presentations on the financial status of the club, growth in member-
ship, on-going improvement projects, programs, etc.
And as always, there is a lot going on at the club with the BYSC
fall racing season well underway for both the one-design and the
PHRF fleets, Junior Sailing of Beaufort hosting High School sailing
practice sessions on Friday afternoons, lots of activity at the tennis
courts, a few hardy souls still enjoying the kayaks and SUP’s, Sun-
set and ‘Finally Fridays’, Steak Night, and just plain old ‘hanging
out’.
And not to worry if you have not yet gotten in your volunteer
hours for the year – work parties will be scheduled now that the
temperatures have dropped a bit and plenty of opportunities to as-
sist with social activities are available.

Fall is in the air and we are having lots of fun out
here at the club! As summer fades the weather is
perfect for getting outside and enjoying the
Lowcountry. Here are some important dates for
October
Oct 24th is our Oktoberfest Friday.
Oct 30th at 6 pm we have our annual meeting
and we are looking forward to sharing all the ex-
citing things to come in 2015.
Dylan and Ashley are planning a fun Halloween
party Oct 29th from 4-6. Everyone is welcome to
attend and carve a pumpkin and celebrate the sea-
son.
As we move toward colder weather remember to
winterize your boat, drain the lines, and if you
have a cover put it on before the pine needles and
leaves start falling. If you need help with your boat
in any way this season, don’t hesitate to call the
me.

Hey Folks If your looking to get some volunteer hours, we will be putting in a few hours of Club beautification on SATURDAY Oct 18, from 10:00 Am-1:00 PM. Landscaping and gardening fans this is your day! If you want to come out and lend a hand please let us know. Anyone who has a free morning ro afternoon please feel free to stop by for some volunteer hours, as fall rolls in, working out-side isn't so bad for sure.
If landscaping isn't your thing, now worries! Dylan and Ashley are putting on
Halloween Party on the 29th and could use some help for sure, we will be carving pumpkins and making Halloween decorations with the kids and there will be plenty of things to do.
Oktoberfest Friday is Oct 24th, and I’m sure a grill man and a few Bavarian
Barmaids would be appreciated, also help with set up and clean up are always needed.
This club has amazing member involvement and I see a lot more folks around
every day, which is great because I like having someone to talk to and Renee has heard all my jokes. If you have a free morning or afternoon please call us. We have all kinds of stuff going on to help you get your volunteer hours and make this club that much better.
I personally would like to thank everyone for all they do, this place runs on
you!

My MC Scow (2047) is available for sale since I recently pur-
chased a newer one. I would rather keep it at BYSC but with the
Nationals in Augusta this fall there is current interest elsewhere so I
may have to sell it.
