Thursday, 8th December 2016 Term 4 Week 9
Dear Parents,
Last night we held our Year 6 Farewell. It was a beautiful evening with all the children looking
gorgeous and so grown up. It is hard to believe these children are finishing primary school and are
ready to move onto High School – where have the years gone! Congratulations to our Year 6 children
for the way in which they presented themselves and represented our school in the wider community
last night. You truly are a very special group of children. A big thank you to all our Year 6 parents for
their wonderful support of our school and taking the time to make last night such a special event for
our children. Thank you all.
Our Presentation Day on Tuesday was a very special occasion. What a wonderful celebration of the
2016 school year. It was great to see our children recognised for their efforts at such a lovely occasion
this year. A special thanks to Shelley Chaffey, Deb Wilkin and Di Mooney for their organisation of the
event and thank you to everyone else involved.

Food Allergies - We do have several children at our school who have peanut allergies and have severe
reactions if exposed to this food. Parents are asked to be mindful of this when packing recess and
lunch and are encouraged not to send products which contain nuts in them to school.
A general reminder:-
All items of clothing and personal belongings should be clearly marked with your child’s
name.
All children require a broad brimmed hat each day as our school has a “No Hat, No Play”
policy.
When parents and friends come to the school during the day, they should present to the front
office on arrival. This is a Legal and Workplace Safety requirement and is followed for the
safety and security of all children and teachers.
We continue to encourage parents to make appointments to come and talk about your child’s
progress, problems that may arise, ideas etc. It is reminded that the education of your child is a
team effort with teachers and parents being the main stakeholders. With this in mind, it is an
important reminder that the parent/teacher relationship always needs to be cohesive and
supportive and one of mutual respect. I am sure we will continue to work with one another in a
positive manner.
All money coming to the school should be placed in a sealed envelope with your child’s name,
correct amount of money, class and what the money is for clearly written on the front. All
money should be sent directly to the front office at the school for processing.
Our School Newsletter will now be uploaded every Thursday so all parents receive information at the
same time. Please refer to our website to download the weekly newsletter.
If any parent has any concerns regarding any aspect of school life, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Semester 2 Reports
Due to staff illness, Semester 2 reports will not be sent home until Tuesday 13th
December. We thank
you for your patience and ongoing support.
Online Payments
It is now possible for parents to make online payments to the school for amounts owing for students,
via a secure payment page hosted by Westpac. Payments can be made using either a Visa or
MasterCard credit or debit card, and can be made via computer, tablet or mobile phone. The payment
page is accessed from the front page of the schools website by selecting $ Make a payment.
This is a secure payment system hosted by Westpac to ensure that your credit/debit card details are
captured in a secure manner. These details are not passed back to the school.
Once payment is made, the parent permission note MUST be returned to the school. All
payments and permission notes must be made and returned by the cut-off date on the note.
Payment for an activity does not give permission for a student to be involved so please
remember to send the permission note back immediately.
All permission notes returned must include the reference number that is given upon payment.
Money and Notes
As all parents and children are aware, all money, when it comes to school for an event, goes directly to
the school office. This procedure is working well and we thank everyone for following this process.
When children and/or parents return permission notes to school, they also need to be taken to the
office. All notes will be collated and kept in the office and staff will pick up notes from the office after
the closing date. We are hoping this streamlines the process with notes.
CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR 2017
This year out Infants children will participate in a Christmas Spectacular, singing songs and listening
to stories about Christmas. This will take place on Wednesday, 14th
December from 11.40-12.40.
Children can dress in Christmas colours on this day to celebrate the Christmas season. Class parties
will also be held on this day. A note will be sent home with further information.
P&C News
HELPING HANDS NEEDED
While the kids show off their dance moves at the
disco this Friday, the P&C would really love some
extra volunteers to help run the food and drink stalls.
If you can lend a helping hand, simply head over to
the barbecue area and ask how you can pitch in.
We’re sure to find you a task and it’s a fun way to keep occupied while your kids dig
those disco beats!
NEXT MEETING
We thank everyone who has supported our fundraising events during 2016,
particularly the volunteers who have donated their time at our various events and in
our canteen.
We hope to see you at our first meeting next year.
When: 7pm Wednesday 15th February 2017
Where: School staffroom
All welcome!

for you
.
The Lost property basket is now emptied of Logo jumpers and hats Tuesday & Friday mornings with
named items being returned to students and non-named being washed and re-sold in The Clothing Pool.
So, please write your child's name clearly on all clothes.
