survey planningThe NaviPac con guration module provides easy set-upof all survey parameters either in real-time or off-lineprior to the start of a survey project. The software featuresflexible selection of geodetic control parametersinc luding datums, projections, measurement units andgeoid models, allowing for operation world-wide. Vesselshapes are easily generated or imported and stored astemplates for later use.
A variety of methods are available for the creation of surveylines: e.g. click-and-drag by mouse/trackball, manualinput of survey line coordinates, offset/parallel surveylines, cross lines, circles, arcs, barge-lines, star patterns, etc. Survey lines can further be created pertaining toa defined survey area. A wizard allows creation oftemplates for input of other data formats.
All inputs are automatically stored in a project con gu-
ration le allowing the user to set up new surveys orquickly switch to an existing survey.
realtiMe operationNaviPac supports Windows XPP/Vista and is based on aclient/server solution enabling execution of all softwaresub-modules on any workstation on the network.
Field-tested device I/O drivers are available for allcommonly used positioning systems,: GPS/DGPS/RTKsystems, gyros and compasses, motion/attitude sensors, singlebeam echosounders, magnetometers, dynamicpositioning systems, IMCA, USBL/LBL/INS systems,ARPA and AIS, tide-gauges, autopilots, etc. Generic I/Odrivers allow de nition or customization of your owndevice I/O drivers. The I/O port settings are easily de nedand data is interfaced via RS232, LAN/WLAN (UDP/IP), orEIVA TimeBox time-synchronized interface unit.
Time stamping of sensor data is performed using theinternal computer clock or GPS PPS. Furthermore, theTimeBox time-synchronized interface unit provides LANinterface and distributed time tagging with accuracy betterthan 100 sec.
Full system exibility allows design and con gura-tion of survey parameters and preferred display layout. The Helmsmans display can be distributed without limitto slave monitors or workstations for individual windowslayout and interactive use by the operator.
The navigation monitor features graphical presentationof selected survey objects and cartographic features inreal-time for both absolute and relative positions. Vesselpositions, survey lines (in DXF, DWG and ASCII formats)and objects may be displayed superimposed on C-Mapor S57 based electronic chart displays. The Helmsmansmonitor displays off-track and along-track information, including planned and actual x location.
NaviPac features 3D displays allowing the operator tomonitor its own vessel, as well as other vessels and ob- jects on top of unlimited sized 3D data models. Moreover,
depth coverage information as well as DTMs generatedon-the- y, is distributed to monitors for display in real-time.
NaviPac provides automated managing and storing ofsurvey data. During data logging records can be limitedin time or le size de ned by the user. Records are savedto a project directory allowing set up of new surveys orquick switching to an existing survey. Data is stored inASCII survey format, generic raw format and/or user-de ned format.
navipac liteNaviPac Lite is EIVAs entry-level software package foron-line navigation pertaining to basic surveys, e.g.using singlebeam echosounder. NaviPac Lite features alimited number of device I/O drivers and allows for laterupgrade to NaviPac Plus or the full version NaviPac.
navipac plusNaviPac Plus is intended for RTK operations and providesinterfaces for navigation sensors, GPS time synchronization, gyro compass, singlebeam echosounder, attitude/motionsensor, and data output. If used for multbeam echosound-er surveys the NaviScan software must be acquiredseparately for acquisition of data. NaviPac Plus allowsfor upgrade to the full version NaviPac.

SATELLIN E -3AS(d)Wir eless World - Loca l Solut ion
The SATELLINE-3AS features a maximum data speed of 19.2 kbpsand a number of advanced data transfer functions. Each radio modemof the network can be used as a repeater. The Message Routingfunction facilitates easy setup of large networks with minimuminvestment.
Forward Error Correction (FEC) improves the functioning of the radiomodem under interference. The SATELLINE-3AS is compatible withthe RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 interfaces. The 3ASd product versionis equipped with an LCD display of its own.
With SATEL radio modems, setting up a local data transfer net-work is quick and cost effective. Yourwireless network is independent andfree of operator services. The costof operation is either free of chargeor fixed, depending on the frequencyused. SATELLINE radio modems aretype-approved in over 50 countries. For the latest information, pleasevisit our website www.satel.com.
SATELLINE radio modems are alwayson line, and provide reliable, real-time data communications over dis-tances ranging from tens or hundredsof metres up to around 80 kilome-tres. Thanks to a store and forwardfunction, any radio modem in anetwork can be used as a masterstation, substation and / or repeater.
SATELLINE radio modemnetworks are flexible, easy to expandand can cover a wide variety ofsolutions from simple point-to-pointconnections to large networks com-prising hundreds of modems. Evenfor expanded networks, only oneoperating frequency is required.
All SATELLINE radio datamodems fulfil RoHS requirements(EU directives 2002/ 95/ EC and2002/96/ EU) as of 1 July 2006.

SATELLINE UHF Radio Modems
Large radio modem networkMessage Routing features a versatile radio protocol thattakes care of the routing of messages across a radiomodem network. Communication is completely transpar-ent, which makes Message Routing directly compatible
for most user protocols. Even though the network cancover large areas with multiple hops and repeater stations, only one radio channel is required. Any radio modem inthe network can act as a repeater station, keepinginfrastructure expenses low. The SATELLINE-3AS is fullycompatible with the model SATELLINE-3AS Epic. Thanksto its high transmission power (10 W) and diversityreception, the latter can be used for exceptionally longconnection distances or under signal-fading conditions.
Correctness of messages securedIn the SATELLINE-3AS the error rate is minimised bymeans of advance checking and correction of the datapackets. In Forward Error Correction (FEC), the datapackets are split into several blocks. The radio modemadds correction information inside the blocks duringtransmission.
The Data Transfer mode of the SATELLINE-3AS includesa Command Program function in which the radio channeland addresses can be changed online from the serialport of the radio data modem. The changes are effectedby means of a specific programming package (SL com-mand), which is entered amidst ordinary data.
