PLOT or STORYLINE
Short definition: Plot is a narrative term defined as the events that make up a story, particularly: as they relate to one another in a pattern or in a sequence

to describe the events that make up a story or the main part of a story
My example: There are two girls who are best friends, one of them have a boyfriend. One day the girl found that her boyfriend is having an affair, and the girl found that the other woman of his boyfriend is her best friend.
