The following PG Placement Cell was constituted for the academic year 2019-20.

PG Placement Cell 2019-20 convened its first meeting on Thursday, 3rd October, 2019, at 12:00 PM in the
Principal Chamber. The meeting was presided by our beloved principal, Dr. G H Mahadevaswamy and all
the members of the cell were participated. In the meeting, Dr. Kantesha Sanningammanavara, PG Placement
Coordinator brought the plan of action for 2019-20 before the committee for discussion and after hearing the
suggestions from all participants, the final plan of action was prepared. Also, it was decided in the meeting
to have MOUs with companies in Mysuru for providing training and placement assistance to both MBA and
MCom students. The PG Placement cell has conducted 10 different activities during the academic year 2019-
20 for the benefit of students. Details of the each of activities given below.

Soft Skills Training - 7th September, 2019
One-Day Training on Soft-Skills was organized for 3rd Semester MBA students on 7th Sept., 2019. The
resource person for the program was Mrs. Swarna Gowri Govindaraj, Trainer and Counsellor, Mysuru. The
program was inaugurated by our beloved principal, Dr. G H Mahadevaswamy. The principal spoke in his
address the importance of skills in getting desired job. Dr. R Nalini, HOD-MBA was the guest of honour for
the program and she asserted in her talk that MBA students need to compulsorily attain the required skills
through various classroom activities and training like this one. Dr. Kantesha Sanningammanavara, Program
Coordinator, insisted students to be attentive during whole training session as this was going to be finest day
in their life. The resource person in her three sessions covered various aspects of soft-skills the likes of
personality development, communication skills, presentation skills, team building, leadership etc., through
activities. There were 54 students who got benefited by the training session.

Life Skills Training – 21st September, 2019
One-Day Life Skills Training was organized for 3rd Semester MBA students on 21st Sept., 2019. Dr. Kantesha
Sanningammanavara, PG Placement Coordinator facilitated the entire programme. Dr. Kantesha 10 group of
students and assigned each team a skill. Each team asked to come with a skit exhibited the assigned life skill
involving each member in the team. The skills that were assigned to teams comprised of Self-Awareness,
Critical Thinking, Decision Making, Effective Communication, Decision Making, Interpersonal Skill, Stress
Management, Emotional Management, Creative Thinking, and Stress Management. Then each team given
15 minutes to present the skit and after which one of the team member was asked to brief the objectives and
outcomes of the skill. Also, the audience were given opportunity to interact with the performing team. Dr.
Kantesha de-briefed all the 10 skills and their importance in life and career. He urged student to master these
skills to be successful in their life. All the 56 students of 3rd semester MBA were participated in the training
program.

Invited guest talk on “Career Opportunities in LIC” – 29th Sept., 2019
An invited guest talk was organized by the PG Placement Cell on topic “Career Opportunities in LIC” on
25th Sept., 2019. This talk was organized for the benefit of both MBA and MCom students. The guests for
the talk were Mr. Sridhar and team, LIC Training Centre, Mysuru. The resource persons detailed about the
career opportunities in Life Insurance Corporation of India. They also discussed about the method of
recruitment, syllabus, and benefits that one can enjoy once recruited. Sridhar and team made an offer to our
students that the training for the upcoming LIC exams would be held at our college itself for free of cost if
the number of students is above 50. Dr. S Manju, MCom Coordinator, was also part of this program and
urged the students not to miss a wonderful opportunity that the LIC is offering. Dr. Kantesha
Sanningammanavara, PG Placement Coordinator, welcomed Mr. Sridhar and Team, wished all the students
to give an attempt as offered by LIC. Dr. Kantesha also rendered the vote of thanks to the team assuring to
provide the training facilities to LIC team in the college. There were around 180 who got benefited from this
program.

Invited guest talk on “Awareness about CS” – 18th Oct, 2019
An invited guest talk was organized by the PG Placement Cell on topic “Awareness about CS” on 18th Oct,
2019. This talk was organized for the benefit of both 1st and 3rd semester MBA students. The guests for the
talk were CS Veeresh and CS Jagadish, Members, ICSI and Chairman, Mysuru Chapter. The resource
persons highlighted in their talk about the various avenues available for CS. They also explained the
procedures of CS registration and ways clear the exams successfully. There were 91 students who attended
this talk and got benefited.
Invited guest talk on “Career Opportunities for PG Students” - 5th Dec, 2019
An invited guest talk on “Career Opportunities for PG Students” was organized by the PG Placement Cell
on 5th December, 2019 in the College Auditorium. The resource person for the talk was Prof. Narayan Prasad,
Nodal Officer, Placement Cell, Department of Collegiate Education, Bengaluru. Program was started sharp
at 10:30 am with invocation by Ms. Samanvitha, 2nd year MCom. Ms. Pramodini of 2nd MCom welcomed
the distinguished guests and participants. Dr. Kantesha Sanningammanavara, PG Placement Coordinator
gave prelude of the program highlighting the importance of knowing future career in advance so that students
can make effective plan. The guests of honour Dr. R Nalini, HOD of MBA department reminded the students
that how significant it is to know about various job opportunities that are available in the market for PG
Students and Dr. S Manju, HOD, MCom department highlighted about what students should do to land in a
desired job after the PG programme. Our beloved principal Dr. G H Mahadevaswamy presided the program
and spoke in his presidential remarks that harnessing the skills set is imperative today than anything else to
get a dream jobs. The resource person in his address gave a lot of statistics about the graduating population
in Karnataka every year, the competition that is persistent in the job markets and various job opportunities
that are available for PG students the likes of UPSC, KPSC, banking jobs, Teaching jobs, Railways etc. He
did not forget to mention that how good it is to become the entrepreneur and offer jobs to many people. Prof.

Narayan Prasad also insisted students to take up all the competitive examinations without fail that come up
during their study. He also informed students that how good government colleges are doing well in
conducting placement activities in particular Maharani’s Women’s Commerce and Management College,
Mysuru. Finally, he took oath from all the students that they are supposed to grab job opportunities with full
heart.

Invited guest talk on “Career Guidance for MBA Students” – 14th Jan, 2020
An invited guest talk on “Career Guidance for MBA Students” was organized by the PG Placement Cell on
14th January, 2020 in MBA Finance Room, 218. The resource person for the talk was Prof. Kiran Kumar
KV, Associate Professor, Foundation for Research, Education and Development, Mysuru. The resource
person in his talk covered various aspects of MBA education and things after MBA programme. He started
his talk introducing himself to students from his education to career to being a consultant in India and for
clients in foreign countries. He stressed that MBA is not just a formal education wherein students get certified
and get MBA degree, but MBA is the programme that create an attitude that is required by the many
employers around the globe. Prof. Kiran answering students’ questions spoke about how best it is to become
an entrepreneur and success mantra for entrepreneurship is working on multiple ideas and getting finance
back-up from the family. Then, he covered aspects like what kind of career options are available for MBA
HR and MBA finance students in the job market, then how interview will take place by majority of the
companies mainly in Bengaluru. He listed that written test, GD, technical process and HR process are the
usual rounds of interview process conducted by the majority of the companies. Further, he gave a few tips to
students that what they should to for the next 3-4 months like getting ready with updated Resume and running
the same with experts, having LinkedIn account, having Facebook account with only relevant posts, having
blogs account, vlogs, watching English speaking videos, tedtalk videos and reading at least three books. This
talk found to be very useful for the students. Dr. Kantesha proposed the vote of thanks.

Invited guest talk on “Career Opportunities in Banking” – 29th Jan, 2020
An invited guest talk on “Career Opportunities in Banking” was organized by the PG Placement Cell on 29th
January, 2020 in MBA Finance Room, 218. The resource person for the talk was Mr. Senthilkumar
Veerappagouder, Branch Manager, Indian Overseas Bank, Honnur, Karnataka. Dr. Kantesha
Sanningammanavara, PG Placement Coordinator, in his introductory address alerted students huge
opportunities in banking and asked them to grab the same. Dr. Nalini R, HOD-MBA, insisted students to
know the opportunities that come their way and get ready by now itself. Dr. Manju S, MCom Coordinator
urged the students to prepare hard to grab the career opportunities in Banking. Principal, Dr. G H
Mahadevaswamy, in his address highlighted the recent openings for commerce and management students
and also wished all the students to informative day. The resource person in his talk highlighted the various
opportunities that are available for MBA and MCom students in Banking. He also stressed up on the easiest
ways to crack the toughest banking exams for various categories. He was so generous as I answered many
queries raised by the students related to banking career. There were around 47 MBA and MCom students
who attended this program.

Invited guest talk on “Academic Stress and Facing Competitive World” – 8th Feb, 2020
The guest talk on “Academic Stress and Facing Competitive World” was organized by the PG Placement
Cell on 8th Feb, 2020 in MCom Room 211. The resource person for the talk was Mrs. Lila Kothari, Mysuru,
Zone Trainer, JCI, Mysuru. Mrs. Kothari discussed on how to cope up with academic stress and be productive
both in personal and student life. Mrs. Kothari addressed the different queries raised by students through
various examples. Dr. Manju S, MCom Coordinators was present in the program and he also gave his views
on academic stress and ways to control the same. Dr. Kantesha Sanningammanavara, PG Placement
Coordinator, thanked both resource person and all the participants for making the event successful. There
were around 100 MBA and MCom students who attended this program.

Placement Drive by Goan Institute International Consociation Education Pvt Ltd. (GICE)
The placement drive was held for all the interested second year MCom and MBA students on 12th February
2020 at our College at 3:00 PM. The campus drive was organized from Goan Institute International
Consociation Education Pvt Ltd. (GICE). The GICE was looking for Skill Development Faculty Trainer
(Soft Skill Trainer) for different places in Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh. The
qualification for the said position was UG and PG (Final Year). Mr. Nighil S Tom, Chief Administrative
Officer, GICE, briefed about the interview process. Mr. Shyamlal K R and Jetly from GICE were also present
in the briefing session. After the three rounds of interview, 18 of 20 students were given the employment
offer by the GICE.
