Alex Park is a development taking place on a sixteen-acre site at the gateway to Downtown Rochester NY on Alexander Street The fi rst phase of the mixed-use project involved redevelopment of a 400000 square foot former hospital campus into offi ces and retail along with the construction of a new 80000 square foot Class A offi ce building a 20000 square foot medical offi ce building and a free-standing Canandaigua National Bank branch
The northern end of the development site is currently being developed with new construction Central Rock Gym a 20000 square foot rock climbing gym opened in February 2019 The 20000 square foot facility features 45-foot-tall climbing areas and 300 linear feet of bouldering wall Central Rock Gym operates thirteen locations in the northeast
Mindex Technologies will open in 2019 within a new 48000 square foot mixed-use building at the northwest corner of the site which is currently under construction A Rochester Top 100 Company Mindex employs over 100 people providing project management consultation Upper fl oors of this building are modern residential units featuring private balconies These units are scheduled for December 2019 occupancy
Future construction also includes over 200 new modern apartments along with additional mixed-use space and a new parking garage
