Aircraft TrackingBe ready for the 2018 mandate!Recent events showed a major flaw in current flight operations where aircraft in distress were lost and difficult to locate, if found at all.
Some examples are:› Air France Flight 447 (2009)› Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 (2014)› Air Algérie Flight 5017 (2014)› Indonesia AirAsia Flight 8501 (2014)
These and some other events moved the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) into action and in 2014 a task force was appointed to investigate the possibilities to track aircraft. The task force within ICAO introduced the Normal Aircraft Tracking concept to ensure that the operator is informed every 15 minutes of the 4D position data (longitude, latitude, height, time) of every single aircraft in their fleet!
Your needsYou will need to comply with the upcoming mandate for Normal Aircraft Tracking. A summary of the mandate:› Proposed mandated deadline November 2016 or 2018› Tracking required for all aircraft on planned routes over
oceanic area’s› Applicable for aircraft with a take-off weight
in excess of 27000 KG and more than 19 seats, both newly build and retrofit
› No change to ATC procedures, the AOC will be responsible to track their aircraft
› Proposed mandated deadline November 2018
Your benefitsThe benefits of the Normal aircraft Trackingsolution by Fokker Services are as follows:› Meet the upcoming mandate› Reliable real time satellite tracking› Improve operational performance› Low weight› Easy installation› Competitive pricing

Product DescriptionThe Fokker Services tracking solution is using existing infrastructure as much as possible to track and communicate its location.
1. For determination of the position of your aircraft GPS or equivalent signals are used.
2. The basic tracking systems consist of a on-board GPS antenna for positioning, a SATCOM antenna for communication, a small tracking computer that determines the tracking regime and an optional cockpit control panel.
3. Since the aircraft is out of reach for radio communication,
the Inmarsat or Iridium constellation is used for satellite communication.
4. The ground based satellite receivers receive the data from the satellites.
5. The tracking data is transmitted to the AOC, where the data is stored and can be used for operational improvement. In case of an emergency, ATC and Search & Rescue will be informed.
