In 1999, Ministerial Decree No. 104 was issued to form the Standing Committee for the Preparation of theEgyptian Code for Air Conditioning and refrigeration under the chairmanship of Prof. / Essam Eldin KhalilHassan.
Specialized sub-committees were established for the Egyptian Code for air conditioning and refrigeration.
In 2004, the Egyptian HVAC code was issued and ratified by the EgyptianParliament and implemented under Ministerial Decree No. 139.

• Currently, trials for an effective mechanism for awareness and applying the HVAC codeare being done to be mandatory. Also, training to the largest number of specialists isfocused on, through issuing a certificate by HBRC as it is the only authorized body inEgypt entrusted with the license of the code.
• In addition, the possibility of licensing the district cooling code is being studying.
• The possibility of licensing the practice of the operators of air conditioning andrefrigeration stations is also being studying through preparation of a code for GoodPractice Standards and Rehabilitation - A Guide for Operators of Air Conditioning andRefrigeration Systems.
