•Lack of concentration
•Lack of motivation
•No vocabulary available

What is action research?• Action research is deliberate, solution-oriented investigation that is group or personally owned and conducted. It is
characterized by spiraling cycles :
Problem identification, Systematic data collection, Reflection, analysis, Data-driven action taken, And, finally, problem redefinition.
The linking of the terms “action” and “research” highlights the essential features of this method: trying out ideas in practice as a means of increasing knowledge about or improving curriculum, teaching, and learning .
(Kemmis & McTaggart,
1988)

How can I use action research in my classroom?
You can use it • to chart the effects of implementation of a
curriculum or strategy,• to study student learning and responses, • or to profile individual students.
![Page 14: Action research](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022081602/54846812b4af9fd41d8b46c7/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
How does action research benefit students in the classroom?
Action research can improve the teaching and learning process by reinforcing, modifying, or changing perceptions based on informal data and nonsystematic observations.
![Page 15: Action research](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022081602/54846812b4af9fd41d8b46c7/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
How does action research benefit teachers?
• Teachers learn what it is that they are able to influence
• and they make changes that produce results that show change.
• The process provides the opportunity to work with others
• and to learn from the sharing of ideas.

METHODOLOGIES ! • Do not try to cover all attributes
during a single session! • One observation tells you little, but
many short observations can tell you a lot.
• This provides you with an accurate indicator of students’ level of understanding.
• It also helps you to plan instruction to meet specific needs
![Page 35: Action research](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022081602/54846812b4af9fd41d8b46c7/html5/thumbnails/35.jpg)
Students’ views on Assignments
• Have more time to work on the structure than an exam.
• There are too many of them.
![Page 36: Action research](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022081602/54846812b4af9fd41d8b46c7/html5/thumbnails/36.jpg)

How does my understanding of social inclusion impact on how I construct the curriculum in the early years?
What and who are we talking about really when we say “social inclusion?”
What are the effects of my understanding about social inclusion for myself, children, parents, colleagues?
