A CONSTRUCTIVE SUPPORT FROM THE CONGRESS

The Congress said lately that it would offer aconstructive support in the Budget Hearing ofthe House . Abhishek Manu Singhvi repeatedthe commitment of his party to participateactively in the session . However, theCongress spokesperson warned that theCentre should not consider the support ofCongress for granted .

On February 26 , the House received the RailBudget and the following day, the EconomicSurvey will be presented while the GeneralBudget was introduced on February 28 .Narendra Modi , the Prime Minister, addressedthe opposition and assured them that hisgovernment would attempt and make surethat the budget hearing of parliamentdiscusses all important matters .

Just before the beginning of the hearing, thePrime Minister Modi revealed that he met withthe leaders of supporters the day before andlistened to their opinions . He assured that theywould try to make sure that each importantconcern is debated in the budget hearing . Headded that each government considers thebudget hearing as a vital opportunity not only forthe administration but also for the country sincethe budget reflects the aspirations and theexpectations of the ordinary man .

The budget hearing is important for thegovernment because six ordinances have tobe discussed for replacing them by relevantrulings . Before the budget hearing, M.Venkaiah Naidu, minister of parliamentaryaffairs,organized a meeting with the entireparty and the Prime Minister attended alsothe meeting . Modi called for smooth runningof the parliament .

Naidu met also with Sonia Gandhi, theCongress president and asked for hercollaboration in making sure that the housefunctions smoothly . When addressing themedia, Naidu assured that the house woulddebate each ordinance and defended the billon the land acquisition claiming that it wasnot against the farmers . According to him,there is no provision against farmers in thecontroversial bill . He added that theopposition was politicizing the issue .
