The design
We have applied the self-compression arc-quenchingprinciple. This principle makes the best possible use of theenergy of the arc to quench it, thus reducing the powerrequired by the operating mechanism.
Because of the low energy requirement, during develop-ment we were able to fall back in one of our operatingmechanism forms which has proved itself over a long time:the spring-stored energy mechanism.
