Dixon Jones is a design orientated practice known for their cultural projects, university buildings and commercial developments in sensitive urban sites. Jeremy Dixon and Edward Jones established the partnership in the 1980s after winning the competition to redevelop the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. The practice has expanded in recent years to take on large scale developments across a range of different sectors winning numerous awards and accolades.
“In the 1930s, No.35 Marylebone High Street became a home to the BBC and for the following decades the building established a distinguished presence on the street. In the 1960s a large and ill-conceived rear extension was built with its frontage on Beaumont Mews. Our project has retained and refreshed the front aspect to Marylebone High Street providing an appropriate address for exclusive apartments. On the other hand we proposed that the unfortunate rear extension be demolished and replaced by three storey townhouses in harmony with this particular area of London.”
