January 2019
Dear Coaches and Players,
Welcome to the 13th annual Mohegan Sun World Softball Coaches’ Convention held in the Mohegan Sun's
newest venue, the Expo Center! We are excited to have you here. Our mission is to provide you with the very
best in coaching education; and once again this year we have secured top clinicians and designed a curriculum
that addresses all levels of play and a range of coaching areas.
Here are a couple of convention notes for 2019:
- New this year, with our move to the more spacious Expo Center, we've created a new Demo Infield
in the back of the Exhibitor Zone, near the On Deck Sports Batting Cage. Make sure you attend one
of our interactive demos in this space during the convention.
- We have an event app that features the convention schedule, a list of exhibitors, a digital version of the event
handout and much more. Search Softball Coaches Convention in the app store. If you'd like to receive real-
time event updates and news, please allow us to push event notifications to your device of choice.
- Starting at 12:10pm, we are offering players and coaches the opportunity to meet and get autographs from
our attending softball stars - Lauren Chamberlain, Kelsey Stewart and Chelsea Goodacre - in the Exhibitor
Zone. See the event handout or app for details. Players have first priority for autographs.
- At 1:15pm, Softball Hall of Famer Sue Enquist is hosting a session - Big Fails, Big Moments & Big Lessons
- in Break-Out 1 featuring softball stars Lauren Chamberlain, Kelsey Stewart and Chelsea Goodacre. They’ll
share insights about the things that helped them improve - and you’ll get ideas for helping your players
improve, too.
- We encourage you to take advantage of time early in your day to visit exhibitors, as some exhibitors have
flights to catch later in the day and the Exhibitor Zone closes at 3:30pm. We have dedicated exhibitor time
from 7:45 - 8:15AM, from 10:30 - 11:15am, and again during lunch.
We believe our convention is more than just a day of player and coaching instruction; it is a chance to bounce
ideas off your fellow coaches and players and learn from each other. Our convention staff, exhibitors and guest
speakers will be available to you throughout the convention.
We thank all of our convention presenters for sharing their knowledge of and passion for the game. A special
thanks to our title sponsor, Mohegan Sun; and to our sponsors and exhibitors, whose support helps make this
convention possible.
Enjoy your time here; and if you have any thoughts on how to improve next year’s Mohegan Sun World
Softball Coaches’ Convention, please let us know. Wishing much success in your upcoming season!
Yours in softball and coaching,
