This week’s tutorial is interesting. I learnt many techniques to build a high and strongtower. First of all, our group members had to prepare more than 40 balsa woodsbefore this activity. Also, we had to construct a frame of the tower. Actually, weconceive to build a prism tower because the triangle is the most stable shape tosupport the gravity of tower. Thus, we drawn the draft of this tower.

Hence, we began to built the triangular base as large as we possibly.

However, during the process of activity, the soft balsa woods brought many troublesbecause it couldn’t support the model of tower. When we used the glue to stuck thebalsa woods, others would be cracked. The truth made us feel frustrate.

In fact, we knew the work was failed because we cut the balsa woods badly. So, Irealized that good material was important for the construction. It is an overstatementto say that material can decide if the building was successful. On the other hand, wewasted many balsa woods in the tutorial. It could be said that we violated the rule ofsustainability.
