Getting Started
Your Responder LC remote is powered by an internal rechargeablebatterythatcanonlybeservicedbyanautho-rizedDirecteddealer.Duetotransitandstoragetimepriortoyourpurchase,thebatterychargemayhavedepleted.Toensureproperoperation,checkthebatterylevelandifnotfullycharged,usetheprovidedcabletoconnecttotheUSBportona computer. See“Battery Information (ResponderLC)”onpage49and“Status Screen Icons”onpage8 formoreinformationaboutthebattery.
Charging the remote control
• PlugtheUSBendoftheprovidedUSBcable intotheUSBportonacomputer.Insertthemini-USBconnectorintothemini-USBportlocatedonthesideoftheremotecontrol.Thetextfieldwilldisplay„CHARGE“ to indicate the remote con-trol is charging (The remote remains operational whilechargingandcancommandthesystem).
• Oncefullychargedthetextfieldwilldisplay„FULL“.
• The remote control is then ready for use. Disconnect thecablefromtheremotecontrolendfirst.

Disarm – Press and release The alarm disarms, doors unlock (if connected), and the siren chirps andparking lights flash twice. The „DISARM“ textandbeepsplaytoconfirmandthesystemstatusiconsupdate. If Valet mode* is On, the doors unlock and the „VALET“textandtoneplay.

Trigger Zone Fault Report Whenarmedbyremotecommandthesystemrunsastatuscheck of the alarm trigger zones. Faulty zones (usuallycausedbydomelightdelayoropentrunk)arebypassedandreportedvia thecontrol centerLEDand remote,whileallothertriggerzonesremainactiveandaremonitoredtopro-tect the vehicle. Should a faulty zone self correct (domelight turns off) it becomes active and is then monitored normally.
The siren chirps once again a few seconds following thearming chirps as an audible alert, the control center LEDflashesingroupstoindicatethezonenumber.Theremotewillemitasinglefaulttoneandplayzonespecifictextthatidentifiesthefaultyzones.

3. The control center LED turns On when entering and Offwhenexiting.
Power Save ToreducepowerconsumptionthecontrolcenterstatusLEDmodifiesitsoutputifthevehicleisparkedforanextendedperiod. If Armed the flashing is reduced after 24 hours.WhenValetmodeisOntheLEDwillturnoffonehourandwill reset each time the ignition is turned off.

Rapid Resume If power is everdisconnectedby amechanic or thief, thesystemwillresumethestateitwasinatthetimeofdiscon-nection,whenpowerisreconnected.
Automatic Remote Updates The system sends a silentmessage to all remote controls after any major action has occurred. When the remote receives this message it updates the status screen icons. This way all users are able to quickly review the system statusjustbyaccessingthestatusscreen.
Out of Range Eachtimeacommandisperformedtheremotewillexpect a command confirmation from the system. If a commandconfirmation is not received the out-of-range icon and afaulttonewillplayasanalert.
No Remote Output Occasionally when a command is performed the remotemaynotgenerateacommandconfirmationoutputorOutofRangeoutput.Thisindicatesthatthesystemreceivedthecommandbutitwasanincompletecommand(e.g.Auxbut-tonpressedtooshorttoactivatethetrunkrelease)oritwasanillegalmessage(e.g.thecommandwascorruptedduetolocal RF interference). After performing a com-mand,„LOWBAT“andseveralbeepsplayontheResponderLCremotetoindicatethebatteryneedstobecharged.
Note!
To preserve power at critically low battery levels the ResponderLCturnsthepageroffandstopsreceivingmes-sagesfromthesystem. Itwillcontinuetocommandthesystemuntilthebatterycanbecharged.
Battery Life The Responder LC remote control has many features thatmakeitoneofthemostuniqueremotecontrolsonthemar-kettoday,includingsuperiorlongrangecommunicationwiththesystem.Thedefaultfeaturesettingsprovideforexcellentbatterychargeduration.However,tomaximizethisdurationbetweencharges,thefollowingsuggestionswillhelp:
• TurntheremoteOff:Whennotinuseand/oroutofrangeofthevehicletheremotecanbeturnedoffintheMainmenu.
