“A shockingly large number of Americans succumb each and every day to cardiovascular disease. It tops the charts as the leading cause of death at an impressive 28% according to the Center for Disease Control, CDC. These deaths are largely from heart attacks (myocardial infarctions) but include other heart disease related conditions as well. Nearly half of the people who have had one heart attack suffer another within a year. Faced with these facts and statistics, it is no wonder that an entire month, February is designated as American Heart Month to promote education and awareness about heart health issues.”

President Eisenhower was the first sitting President to have a heart attack. His cardiologist, Paul Dudley White, said that when he graduated from medical school in 1911 he had never heard of a heart attack. The following year – 1912 – the Journal of the American Medical Association published an article detailing 4 cases of an unusual event which they called “coronary thrombosis.” In less than 100 years, heart disease is the leading cause of death. Now we see why heart disease is sometimes called the disease of civilization.

Researchers have found that people with gum disease are almost twice as likely to suffer from coronary artery disease. Inflammation is the oftentimes the root cause – reduce internal inflammation by ingesting adequate amounts of antioxidants in your diet and/or by supplementation.

Magnesium &Taurine

AdrenalineHolds the Magnesium in the body

B Vitamins

Main cause of arrhythmia – lack of adequate magnesium and taurine in the body.

Magnesium is held in the body by adrenalin. The body needs a minimum of five straight hours of sleep, to make enough adrenalin to hold the magnesium in the body. If you are unable to get at least five hours of uninterrupted sleep, supplementation is then recommended. Bio-available magnesium is available in HealthWalk's ReGenesys™ and taurine is available in HealthWalk’s Subrexi™

The adrenals use the B vitamins to make adrenalin. If under high stress a person is not able to make enough B vitamins. In this case, it would be wise to take a Multi-B supplement, a live source liquid form is most absorbable.

Angina – low cell energy of the heart muscle

Ubiquinone vs.Ubiquinol

Ubiqinol is more bioavailable.

Angina which is a sudden drop in oxygen to the heart muscle. An important nutrient to help this condition is CoQ10.

Also important would be to take an antioxidant (e.g. vitamin E, E, beta-carotene etc.) with the CoQ10 so that it is not used up as an antioxidant instead of going to the mitochondria to increase cell energy.

Heart health with exercise

• Exercise is very important for heart health. It helps relieve stress, lowers blood pressure, strengthens heart function, enlarges the arteries to the heart, lowers resting heart rate and improves endurance and energy levels.

• To help relieve stress from our daily lives meditation, yoga, journaling, reading or finding a favorite hobby will help relieve your heart from stress.

Fish such as wild salmon and snapper contain the most omega-3 fatty acids. The omega-3 fatty acids help lower blood pressure, reduce blood clotting, reduce inflammation and helps reduce the risk of heart disease. Avoid all farm raised fish – they contain dyes, antibiotics and PCBs. Organic skinless chicken is another good source of protein. It contain B vitamins and niacin among other vitamins too.

There are two main types of ranges in the field of blood chemistry analysis, a laboratory range and a functional range.

Conventional western medicine is trained to look at the laboratory range, this indicates when disease is present.

At HealthWalk we look at the laboratory range and analyze the numbers in the functional range as well, which may show patterns of functional imbalance, a precursor to a disease state. We can then recommend health strategies such as lifestyle, nutrition, supplements and other non-invasive therapies to address the issues before illness sets in.
