„For us, quality is not just about products. It’s a way of thinking”For us, quality is an all-embracing company philosophy – the sum ofall activities within our company’s value chain. This applies just asmuch to innovative product development and training as it does toconsultation and service. And, it goes without saying that for us atBECKER quality also means compliance with essential internationalstandards, such as DIN ISO EN 9001 or the European CE marking.

But we go far beyond this.

Perhaps this is why we have succeeded in developing into aninternational family-run company in the space of eight decades. Weare committed to shaping the future by setting new standards inhigh-quality technology – with the help of creativity and innovation. In this sense, we see the products on the following pages as the resultof our prevailing company maxims, and we will be delighted if they canalso contribute to the success of your business.

Sectional Door Drives and Controls

BECKER sectional door drivesare suitable for …• Solid and tubular shafts

1“ - shaft1“ - drawn tubes

• 25 mm + 1“ shaft(150 series)

The sectional door is the most frequently used door system inindustrial applications throughout Europe. You will therefore find thatthe BECKER sectional door range offers a wide selection of drive seriestailored to your individual requirements.

For sectional doors, BECKER offers the following drive types withvarious specifications: AW 25–A 140 single phase and three-phaseA.C. drives, A 50 E - A 140 E with electronic limit switching andA 50-A 70 DMR sectional door drives with torque control.

Performance data:• From 25 Nm to 140 Nm• For three-phase A.C. (3 x 400 volt/50Hz,

can be changed to 3 x 230 volt / 50Hz)

• For single-phase A.C. (1 x 230 volt/50Hz)

Safe and easy to install: the newDMR drive and control system

AW 25 – A 140 Single phase and three-phase A.C. drives with mechanical limit switchingA 50 E – A 140 E with electronic limit switchingA 50 DMR – A 70 DMR sectional door drives with torque controlOur three limit switching concepts provide maximum flexibility for spring-balanced sectional doorsin both the private and industrial sector. Complemented by our superior control technology, theyare the perfect solution for a wide range of applications.

Whether dead-man’s control or self-locking, with pneumatic, electrical or optical rail – we have the perfect solutionfor all your requirements.

From single phase drives for door weights up to approx. 480 kg anddoor speeds up to 0.29 m/s through to three-phase drives for doorweights up to approx. 780 kg with door speeds up to 0.33 m/s – all ofour sectional door drives with disconnecting clutch can be easilydisconnected from the door shaft, e.g. in the event of a power failure.Equipped with this special design feature, the drives meet the stringentrequirements for fire stations, doors, DIN 14092 and the guidelines forpower-operated doors. In addition, with the aid of a suitable cabledrum, the drive will easily reach the opening speed required by thisstandard. Setting the end limits is particularly easy and convenient ondrives A 50 E – A 140 E with electronic limit switching: the final limitpositions can be set from the ground using the S 80 door control.

DMR stands for torque control and means that BECKER drives A 50DMR and A 70 DMR operate without final limit positions. This offerspalpable advantages when it comes to installation, as no adjustmentis required to the final limit positions when the door is installed. Asingle raising and lowering of the door suffices to set the final limitpositions. In the event of subsequent changes to the opening dimensions,e.g. due to laying of a screed, the intelligent DMR control automaticallyadjusts to this and carefully regulates the torque requirement of thedoor in every position. Alongside the exceptional ease of installation, this system provides optimal safety. In addition to the standardbottom pneumatic safety-edge rail, the DMR control stops the door assoon as it is subjected to any mechanical stress which causes thetorque requirement to increase unexpectedly, e.g. if a fork lift truckdrives into the door. Intermediate positions can also be convenientlyprogrammed with the DMR control: the practical summer/wintersetting of the door is a prime example.

For us, quality is an all-embracing company philosophy – the sum ofall activities within our company’s value chain. This applies just asmuch to innovative product development and training as it does toconsultation and service. And, it goes without saying that for us atBECKER quality also means compliance with essential internationalstandards, such as DIN ISO EN 9001 or the European CE marking.

But we go far beyond this.

Perhaps this is why we have succeeded in developing into an interna-tional family-run company in the space of eight decades. We arecommitted to shaping the future by setting new standards inhigh-quality technology – with the help of creativity and innovation. In this sense, we see the products on the following pages as the resultof our prevailing company maxims, and we will be delighted if theycan also contribute to the success of your business.

The FU 750 frequency converter andWSTE 1000 FU control for door drives

Sectional and PVC doors with conventional drive technology aresubjected to extreme forces during quick acceleration and deceleration. If you want to prevent mechanical damage and at the same time reducedoor running times, this can be achieved using variable door runningspeeds with converter technology. BECKER offers an attractive drivesystem and a control with a high- performance frequency converter, tailored specifically to these requirements in the door sector. Thefrequency converter varies voltage and frequency, so that the drive

runs at variable speed, door running times are minimised and themechanism is protected against excessive wear. This results in smooth, gentle door movements, as the drive accelerates and decelerates gently. The many different setting options of the converter allow optimaladaptation to the relevant door system.

Application:• Sectional doors• High speed PVC doors

General functions:• Variable door speed• Gentle starting and stopping (acceleration and deceleration)• Up to four adjustable ramp times can be selected• Monitoring of electrical and pneumatic

bottom safety edge rails• Adjustable automatic re-closing feature• Duplex traffic control with red/green traffic light• Input for UP-STOP-DOWN light barrier• 24 V output for light barrier supply• 1-channel or 4-channel radio, can be retrofitted• Membrane switch with integrated UP-STOP-DOWN function keys• Cycle counter• Display of special functions and safety stop• Error display• Compact housing• Parameters easily copied to suitable door systems

The advantages at a glance:• Minimal space requirement• Compact construction• Location-independent installation• Very high door speeds

thanks to converter technology• Longer service life of door system thanks to

gentle acceleration and deceleration• Power feed: single-phase alternating current• Energy saving due to short opening and

closing cycles• Lower stress on all mechanical

components• Longer service life• Diverse setting options

Electrical drives have become an important and defining constituentof many machines and doors. Their behaviour has a considerableinfluence on product quality and costs!

In order to adapt the drives to optimal production conditions,speed-variable drive solutions are required.

When designing a drive for a door system, the characteristics of thedoor system form the focus of attention.

These characteristics determine the selection and design of the drivesolution. The power requirement and door speed are essential requirements. As regards the drive, torque and speed are the determining factors.

Application: For operation of spring-balanced sectional doors in con-junction with BECKER door drives with torque control, without final li-mit positions. A single ascent and descent of the door suffices to setthe end limits. If the opening dimensions change, the intelligent DMRcontrol automatically adjusts and regulates the torque requirement.

In addition to the standard bottom pneumatic safety-edge rail, theDMR control stops as soon as any mechanical stress occurs which cau-ses the torque requirement to increase unexpectedly. Any intermedia-te position can be programmed for this purpose.
