5With this Collection and the introduction of our new M-Series i-Tech Print & Apply products, Domino reaches a signifi cant milestone. It was in late 2010 that we unveiled i-Tech intelligent Technology; in the process redefi ning the concepts of performance, low maintenance and ease of use for our industry.

Streamlining production to maximise effi ciency, accuracy and quality is a key focus for Domino’s customers. Our comprehensive portfolio delivers signifi cant benefi ts in this respect, which we showcase here in three key areas – Unique Product Identifi cation, Integration Solutions and Flexible Packaging.

We round off with a look at the latest launches and upgrades to enhance our offering to customers in Life Sciences, Eggs and Beverage production.

Thermal Transfer Overprinting

Our new ADVANCED Ribbon (AR) grade uses innovative technology to provide ultimate printing performance for most applications. AR offers the clearest and most durable codes, at faster speeds and lower operational costs compared to conventional black ribbons. For most customers, AR is the only ribbon you will ever need.

Ultimate TTO printing in black - and white

Domino ADVANCED Ribbon (AR) Supremely legible codes on a much wider range of substrates

Optimum print durability and resistance to rubbing and scratching

Reduced downtime for changeovers with 20% longer ribbon roll

Superior high-speed and harsh environment printing

Increased production capacity with faster printing speeds

Extended print head life thanks to low-energy transfer

Food grade certification available

WR1 Ultra White Ribbon (WR1 UW) Superior contrast on dark substrates with high opacity white print

Reduced downtime for changeovers with 10% longer ribbon roll

Did you know?

Not all Thermal Transfer Overprinter (TTO) ribbons are the same. By installing genuine consumables you’re assured of the best performance from your Domino coding equipment with no compromises and no costly surprises.

For non-standard and specialist applications, our test laboratories will help you determine the best ribbon for your requirements.

We have enhanced our specialist ribbon range with the new Ultra White (UW) grade for a brighter, more opaque and whiter code when printing onto dark substrates.

Beverage

Brown bottles, or clear bottles containing dark liquids can be diffi cult to code clearly. Intensive research & development has led to a breakthrough with these high-contrast, alkali-washable adhesive inks.

High-contrast codes for dark and recyclable bottles now available

Our newest solutions include:High-contrast ink

Advanced high-contrast opaque yellow ink suitable for dark beer or soft drink bottles

Ink may also be suitable for coding PET bottles and dark rubber kegs

Alkali-washable

The code is removed without trace following a caustic wash, making it suitable for returnable bottle applications

Adhesion on wet and dry bottles The ink is suitable for cold fi lled bottles which have a thin layer of

condensation

Also suitable for hot fi ll bottles and packaging including PET and rubber kegs

Did you know?Exposure to UV light can spoil beer due to a chemical reaction with the alpha acids found in hops.

Brown glass is used to help protect beers with a high hop content. Those with fewer hops are less susceptible and can be bottled in green or even clear glass to enhance on-shelf appeal.

Digital Printing

K600i digital foiling solutionThis unique and innovative solution using the K600i enables conventional metallic foils to be digitally applied to label and packaging substrates including features such as variable text, security marks and graphics. Operating at speeds up to 75m/min, the K600i digitally prints a UV-curable adhesive to create the image/pattern area, foil is then laminated onto the substrate and UV cured, prior to delamination. Combining variable data printing with holographic foil provides a robust anti-counterfeit solution for security printers.

New digital solutions launched at Labelexpo Europe 2015N610i hybrid modularity The high productivity, seven-colour N610i integration module can be incorporated as part of a hybrid machine providing the perfect solution to label printers who want to combine digital and conventional printing technologies in a single press. It can be integrated with fl exo, varnishing and die-cutting stations and, given the right job mix, screen and foiling modules. The result allows the production of a wider range of label designs to meet different requirements.
