RESIDENT BIRTHDAYS
Many happy returns once again to Murray Williams and Allison Stacey who celebrated their birthdays this month. We hope you both felt spoiled on your special day, and wish you happiness always!
The Board of Management would like
to advise the community that on the 6th
of October 2019 Dunmunkle Lodge will
celebrate its 40th Birthday. Dunmunkle
Lodge was officially opened on the 26th
of August 1979 as a hostel.
Over the 40 years Dunmunkle Lodge
has continually evolved and kept up to
date with community and industry
expectations to where we are today as
a 38-bed ageing in place residential
facility with 15 independent living
units.
The birthday celebrations will be an
opportunity to acknowledge the many
people who have contributed in some
way to the success of Dunmunkle
Lodge over the past 40 years.
More information about the 40th
birthday celebration will be released
closer to the event, so until then
please keep the 6th of October free.

‘Nail Day’ is a very popular service provided by Natalie in our
Lifestyle Department. Above Barb Dickie looks fabulous after
getting her nails painted, and James Bishop enjoys a manicure.
WELCOME BACK ASWATHI & FAMILY!
RE We are thrilled to have Aswathi, one of
our highly valued Registered Nurses,
return to The Lodge following her
recent trip to India. Employed under
the Regional Sponsored Migration
Scheme visa, Dunmunkle Lodge is
proud to be a sponsor for Aswathi and
her family, enabling them to all live
together here in Minyip. Pictured are
Sharon Taylor (Executive Clinical Care
Manager), Aswathi Yasodharan (RN)
and Susan Boyd (Executive Business
Manager).
Cleve Krause, Steph Doolan (Personal
Care Attendant) and her dog Ollie the
adorable Shih tzu-Maltese cross.
John Canning visits Dunmunkle Lodge on a fortnightly basis to
perform live music. With guitar in hand and a repertoire of songs
our Residents are familiar with, an enjoyable afternoon is always
had. Many Residents join in by singing or tapping along which is
great to see. John has been wonderful over the years, and we
would like to thank him for providing this ongoing service.

GoodSAM APP
Ambulance Victoria Paramedic Community
Support Coordinator Matt Pearce recently called
in to The Lodge to share the following information
regarding the newly introduced GoodSAM app.
GoodSAM is a free global smartphone app that
alerts appropriately qualified responders when
someone nearby is in cardiac arrest. GoodSAM is
linked to Triple Zero, so as soon as an ambulance
is dispatched, a GoodSAM alert will notify
responders in proximity.

SERVICING OUR COMMUNITY
A THOUGHT TO PONDER
S catter K indness
No kind action ever stops with itself.
One kind action leads to another.
Good example is followed. A single act of
kindness throws out roots in all directions,
And the roots spring up and make new trees.
The greatest work that kindness does to others
is that it makes them kind themselves.
