DOES MILK REALLY DO A BODY GOOD?

For most Americans today, milk is a way of life. Indeed, they feel it to be a necessity of life.

Milk, cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, ranch dressing, lasagnia, pizza, ice cream and or other milk products are

on the table at almost every meal.

Are milk and milk products really all they are claimed to be, or have Americans

been udderly fed an incredible advertising blitz designed not for better nutrition, but for bigger business? Did you know that by adding Estrogen to feeding cows that

this can increase the milk production?

GOT MILK ?

Hormones in Milk and Dairy Products:Industrial farms use a number of methods to increase milk production in dairy cows, including selective breeding, feeding grain-based diets (instead of grass), and exposing cows to longer periods of artificial light. One of the most common and controversial ways to force greater milk production is with injection of rBGH (recombinant bovine growth hormone), a genetically engineered artificial growth hormone.Developed and manufactured under the brand name Posilac® by the Monsanto Corporation, rBGH was approved by the FDA in 1993, despite strong opposition from scientists, farmers, and consumers. In August 2008, Monsanto sold their Posilac division to Eli Lilly and Company for $300 million.

Are cows injected with hormones?

• According to Science News, 80 percent of all US feedlot cattle are injected with hormones. 1

• A study of cows treated with melengestrol acetate (one of the artificial growth hormones approved for use in the US) revealed that residues of this hormone were traceable in soil up to 195 days after being administered to the animals. 2 • While the average dairy cow produced almost 5,300 pounds of milk a year in 1950, 3 today, the average is more than 20,000 pounds. 4

MILKING AMERICAN’S HEALTHWhenever one begins to

discuss milk they are touching the Sacred Cow.

But evidence continues to mount that milk and dairy products are a contributing

factor to a number of debilitating diseases including cancer, heart disease, diabetes and a host of other ailments. Yet dairy and meat products continue to be a part of the

Western way of life.

Cheese Types Aging Times

Cottage Cheese 2 wks.

Jack Cheese 1 mo.

Mild Cheddar 3 mo.

Sharp Cheddar 6 mo.

Blue Cheese 12 mo.

Parmesan Cheese 12-36 mo.

WHAT IS THE AGING TIME FOR DIFFERENT KINDS OF CHEESE?

The longer the curing time, the sharper the flavor.

Blue cheese mold

Dr. Michael Klaper of the University College of Medicine stated that cows, chickens, sheep and hogs raised in this country are fed one-half of all the antibiotics produced in the U.S.A. in their animal feed, a mind boggling 30 million

pounds per year.

They then produce the toughest antibiotic-resistant bacteria, which in turn affects the

bodies of those who eat them.

WHY DO ANIMALS RAISED FOR CONSUMPTION REQURE SO MANY

ANTIBIOTICS ?

One of the primary reasons why animals raised for consumption are fed such enormous amounts of antibiotics is

because of the unnatural disease fostering environment in which they are raised.

IS IT STILL SAFE FOR US TO CONTINUE EATING DAIRY PRODUCTS?

Let the diet reform be progressive. Let the people be taught how to prepare food without the use of milk or butter.

Tell them that the time will come when , because there will be no safety in using eggs, milk, cream, or butter, because the disease in animals is increasing in proportion to the increase in wickedness among men.

WHAT DOES DR. JOHN ROBBINS SAY IN HIS BOOK ABOUT THE DISEASES IN ANIMALS?

“The overcrowding, filth, drugs, hormones, and

unwholesome feed the poor creatures are forced to endure fills them with

diseases which contaminate all their “food” products, and these impurities and

diseases pass right on to the innocent consumer.”

Dr. John McDougall, author of McDougall’s Medicine, and former director of the

Wellness Center in St. Helena Hospital in the Napa valley in Northern California, recently issued a decisive press-release regarding the

use of dairy products, including:

“Milk is the number one health hazard facing young children and adults for two reasons: 1- Dairy products are a major cause of common diseases.2- Milk protein is the leading cause of food allergy contributing to ear infections, post nasal drip, hoarseness, asthma, eczema, bed wetting, intestinal bleeding, and malabsorption.

According to Dr. McDougall, “Dairy is a leading cause of iron deficiency anemia in young

children and probably adults. There is one thing that dairy products have more than any

food I can think of: Contamination.

High fat dairy products contribute to obesity adult-onset diabetes, and common cancers. Dairy products are more

atherogenic (causing hardening of the arteries) than meat.

Thus, they are a major factor in causing heart attacks and strokes in western countries. Life threatening diseases,

like rheumatoid arthritis and type 1 (juvenile onset) diabetes are caused by dairy products in too many

people.”

In talking about dairy products, Dr. McDougall states that they can contain high levels of environmental chemicals

and drugs, like antibiotics.

What is even more scary is that dairy cows are infected with bacteria and viral agents like Bovine Leukemia (Leukemia), Bovine Immunodeficiency Viruses (AIDS-like), tuberculosis, and salmonella,

to name a few infectious agents that may threaten human health.”

ACCORDING TO DR. OSKI: DOES MILK HAVE SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE?

On page 81 in his book “Don’t Drink Your Milk”, he states that the average

American eats approximately 375 pounds of dairy products per year.

The slogan goes, Milk has something for everyone. Who can argue with that? Of course that “something” might be diarrhea, iron deficiency anemia, or even a heart arrack!

WHAT EFFECT DOES EATING NON FAT MILK HAVE ON CHOLESTEROL?

Most people think that it is the fat in cows milk raises cholesterol levels. This is a partial truth.

The problem is that cows milk has caseine. Caseine is a protein that raises cholesterol. Caseine is not

found in vegetable protein. Despite removing the fat out of cows milk, the caseine persists. Due to the properties of caseine, there is a raise cholesterol levels.

WHAT DO MEDICAL JOURNALS STATE ABOUT DAIRY PRODUCTS IN RELATION TO

CATARACTS AND CANCER?

The medical journal, Digestive Diseases and Sciences, stated that “Populations which consume large amounts of dairy products tend to have a much higher incidence of

cataracts than populations which avoid them.” Ref:307 (11):652-

659.“Prostate cancer is associated with animal fat intake.” The journal Cancer, 58:2362-71.

Do you know of any other species that drinks milk from another species?

Cows milk contains 1,200 mg of calcium per quart, while

human milk has only 300 mg. Yet, a baby drinking human milk actually absorbs more

calcium. Why? Because among other

things, cow’s milk is very high in phosphorous and protein, both of which inhibit calcium

absorption.

Dr. Forrest Nielsen, research nutritionist with

USDA, states, “Milk is not a food that will prevent

osteoporosis.

Not only is it high in protein and phosphorous, but it is low in boron, which helps

stop calcium loss in the body. Fruits, vegetables, nuts and legumes are good

sources of boron.

What does Dr. Hans Diehl say about cultures that drink milk ?

In his book entitled Lifestyle Capsules on p.

110 he states: “Cultures with the

highest milk consumption have the highest

osteoporosis rates, a disease rarely found in

non-milk drinking cultures.”

MILK PRODUCTS AND DIABETES

Perhaps the most disturbing reports are beginning to link insulin dependent diabetes to a specific protein in dairy products.

This form of diabetes usually develops in childhood, is a leading cause of blindness. It also contributes to heart disease, kidney damage, and

amputations due to poor circulation.

DO MILK PROTEINS STIMULATE THE PRODUCTION OF ANTIBODIES THAT DESTROY PANCREATIC CELLS ?

A report in the New England Journal of Medicine substantiates

the theory that cow’s milk proteins stimulate the production of

antibodies which destroy insulin producing pancreatic cells.

What is it that researchers found on 100% of new onset diabetes in children?

In a new report, researchers from Canada and Finland found high levels of antibodies to a specific portion of a cow’s milk protein,

called bovine serum albumin, in 100% of the 142 diabetic children they studied at the time the disease was diagnosed.

Antibodies can apparently form in response to even small quantities of milk products; including infant formulas.

When is it that normal pancreatic cells are most vulnerable to antibodies made from ingesting

dairy products, in doing their damage?

Dr. Neal Barnard, director of Physicians’ Committee for Responsible Medicine, states, “Pancreatic cell destruction

occurs gradually especially after infections, which cause the cellular proteins to be exposed to the damage of antibodies.”

What do experts in the field say about cows milk and the transmission of the leukemia

virus ?

Pennsylvania veterinarians report that cow leukemia virus can infect other animal species. They were able to grow the virus in human cells in the laboratory.

Virgil Hulse, M.D., a Board Certified Family Practitioner and an Epidemiologist, member of the Animal Retrovirus Association of the U.S. and a former dairy inspector for the State of California, states that 100% of our cattle herds are

infected with the leukemia virus and 100% of our milk supply is now contaminated.

What does Dr. Hulse, a former dairy inspector say about pasteurization and homogenization and the

survival of cancer viruses?

Pasteurization breaks up the fragments of the virus but certain fragments still can find a host cell and propagate the virus by recombination.

Milk is put under 2,500 lbs of pressure when it is homogenized, which breaks up the particle. Many cancer viruses have survived pasteurization, which has

been shown in numerous studies.Dr. Hulse continues to say that our dairy cows now live only 2-3 years because

of infection from leukemia. When we drink a glass of milk, we are drinking millions of infected lymphocytes (pus cells)

What does Dr. Hulse say about white blood cell tumors in humans that eat or handle

animals ?

“Antibodies to the leukemia virus have been found in humans, and especially in people that have multiple sclerosis.

Dairy farmers and veterinarians have increased incidence of certain cancers, such as leukemia, Hodgkin’s lymphomas and

multiple myelomas.”

What does Barbara Reed Stitt, former Chief Probation Officer for 12 years say about

Milk and Behavior ?

“Juvenile delinquents in Washington were discovered to consume two to four times more milk than their non-delinquent counterparts.” From her

book Diet, Crime and Delinquency. P 13-14.

Is there a connection between FOOD & BEHAVIOR ?

Barbara Reed Stitt, the former Chief Probation Officer for 12 years in the Ohio Municipal Court wrote a whole book called “Food and Behavior”,

describing the connection between eating white sugar, dairy products, high protein animal foods, caffeine, artificial sweeteners and “junk food”, and the

increase of criminal behavior.

Criminal Behavior

Barbara Reed Stitt speaks about Nutrition that begins in the home.

“Parents are responsible for far more than just what their kids have for supper. The food behavior habits they instill almost from the moment of birth will influence how the child will think about food for the rest of his or her life.”
