Dodge City South Wastewater Treatment Process

► Anaerobic Lagoons▪ 7.73 acres

▪ 45.9 MG

► Aerobic Lagoons▪ 2.73 acres

▪ 11.54 MG

► Facultative Lagoons▪ 181.2 acres

▪ 1,014 MG

Page 3: Dodge City South Wastewater Treatment Process

Dodge City South Wastewater Treatment Process► Covered anaerobic lagoons collected gas

► Blowers pull gas and sent to flares

► All produced gas was burned

Page 4: Dodge City South Wastewater Treatment Process

Dodge City South Wastewater Treatment Process (Current)► Domestic flow of 2 MGD

► Industrial flow of 5 MGD from National Beef Products

► Produces 2.0 billion gallons/year of treated effluent

► 100% of effluent is used for agricultural irrigation

► Approximately 3,000 acres is irrigated

Biogas Treatment Process

Page 6: Dodge City South Wastewater Treatment Process

Biogas Treatment Process► Molegate Skid

▪ Removes CO2, hydrogen sulfide (H2S), and

ammonia (NH3) from the raw feed gas to

produce a pipeline quality product

▪ Operating principle is the Molecular Gate

process known as pressure swing absorption

(PSA).- Based on the principle that an absorbent will load

a higher amount of a target molecule at higher

pressures and release the target molecule at

lower pressures.

Biogas Treatment Process► Product Gas Connection

▪ Connection to Northern Natural Gas product

pipeline

▪ Maximum pressure of 800 psi

▪ Monitoring equipment and shutoff valve on NNG

side of connection

▪ Bypass line to automatically send gas to flare if

shutoff valve activated

Revenue ConsiderationsRegister with EPA so that RIN (Renewable Identification Number) Credits can be

produced. D code is determined by the feed stock used to produce the Bio-Gas.

The value of credit is determined by the D code.

► Sell Environmental Credits (RINs) 11.727 RINS per MMBTU

► Bio-gas generated from Municipal Wastewater/Landfills qualifies for D3 RINs

► Bio-gas generated from industrial sources will need to be tested to determine

the D code.

► For the Warrior Project, our Industrial Wastewater contained less than 15%

cellulosic material = qualify as D5 RINs.

► Sales to European market are more profitable than D5 RINs.

Project – Current Off-takers► Bio-Gas generated from Industrial Anaerobic Digester is being sold to OCI

Fuels B.V. This gas is converted to liquid Methanol in Beaumont, TX and

shipped to the Netherlands to be blended into automotive fuel to meet

Environmental Standards.

► Bio-Gas generated from the Municipal Anaerobic Digesters is sold to Kwik

Trip Convenience Store chain to be used by their fuel delivery trucks and

sold through the pump at their individual stores.

► 2020 Split▪ 22% Sold to Kwik Trip

▪ 78% Sold to OCI

Project Statistics - Production► Fully operational since February 2018

► 2019 Total Production▪ Average of 1.75 Million CF of Raw Biogas/Day

▪ Sold 344,300 MMBTU, Average of 943 MMBTU/Day

▪ Gallon of Gasoline Equivalent = 3 Million Gallons

▪ ≈ $3.7 Million in Revenue

► 2020 Total Production▪ Average of 1.9 Million CF of Raw Biogas/Day

▪ Sold 317,409 MMBTU, Average of 870 MMBTU/Day

▪ Gallon of Gasoline Equivalent = 2.78 Million Gallons

▪ ≈ $4.1 Million in Revenue

Future System Improvements

► Wastewater treatment plant expansion for Hilmar Cheese Company▪ Additional biogas – 500,000-600,000 CF of Raw Biogas per day @ 68% Methane content.

▪ Additional effluent / irrigation ground – 1.6 MGD of treated effluent & 8 additional center pivots.

► H2S removal ahead of biogas system▪ Purpose – Knock H2S content down to 0 ppm & allow the plant to operate without the TOX.

▪ Status – Study phase to determine sizing and optimum H2S treatment.

► Biogas cooling loop▪ Purpose – Cool the raw biogas stream prior to entering the upgrade facility.

► Potential future CO2 reuse
