For Tracker: bundles of pipes are 12 mm ID from PP1 to PP2, 14 mm ID from PP2 to the cooling plantsFor Pixels: bundle of pipes are 12 mm ID all along the path PP1/plantQuality of the pipes: soft copper, cleanliness level as per EN 12735-2 (Round pipes without welding for air conditioning and refrigeration – Max residual after solvent evaporation 38 mg/m2 – for medical applications this value is 20 mg/m2)

• Brazing procedure qualificationIn the frame of the manufacturing of the cooling circuit of the CMS tracker, Cu tubes have to be hand torch brazed. Samples have been produced by O. Morin TS/MME (lap joints: sleeve and nesting) to assess acceptance criteria through tensile, pressure and metallographic tests.Cu tubes: C12200Filler material: Silfos 5 (AWS B-CuP3) (no flux brazing paste)

Acceptance criteria: - visual inspection, - tensile test and Rm > 220 MPa- leak test 30 min 20 bar, burst test (>200 bar), - metallurgical section: continuous ligament >3mm, total ligament . 5mm over 8 mm length
