Last date of receipt of applications from eligible candidates for AssamRifles Meritorious Sportspersons Quota Recruitment Rally 2021 is25 Jul 2021 Applications received thereafter will not be entertained.Applications will be accepted through online mode only. The onlineapplication SERVER will start functioning from 26 Jun 2021.

The Recruitment Rally will be held at Directorate General Assam Rifles,Laitkor, Shillong (Meghalaya), NRS-Guwahati. Call letters to attend therecruitment rally will be auto generated after due submission of onlineapplication forms. The Recruitment Rally will tentatively be held from24 Aug 2021 onwards depend upon COVID pandemic situation, the exact dateof reporting at rally site will be mentioned in calling letters.

3. The advertised vacancies may increase or decrease at any time / stage of the recruitment

orocess due to administrative reasons. Assam Rifles reserves the right to make changes in

seouence of the recruitment process after publication of this advertisement or to cancel/

postpone the recruitment at any stage without assigning any reason'

Sports Qualifications

(e) The candidates seeking relaxation under SC / ST / OBC category should submitthe certificate as per prescribe format. In the event of non-enclosure of the certificate,the candidate will be considered under General (UR) category. Any applicant who doesnot fulfil the prescribed eligibility conditions, his/her application/candidature will besummarily rejected.

Order of Preference.

(a) First preference will be given to those candidates who have represented thecountry in an lnternational Competition with the clearance of the Department of YouthAffairs and Sports.

(b) Next preference will be given to those who have represented a State / UT in theSenior or Junior level national Championships organized by the National SportsFederations recognized by Department of Youth Affairs & Sports or National Gamesorganized by lndian Olympics Association and have won medals or positions upto

3'd place. Between the candidates participating in Senior and Junior NationalChampionships / Games, the candidates having participated and won medal in SeniorNational Championship should be given preference.

(c) Next preference will be given to those, who have represented a University in anInter University competition conducted by Association of lndian Universities / lnterUniversity Sports Board and have won medals or positions upto 3'd place in finals.

(d) Next preference will be given to those who represented a State/ Union Territory /University / State Schools Teams but could not win a medal or position, in the sameorder of preference.

(e) Next preference will be given to those who have represented the State Schoolsin the National sports / games for Schools conductqd by the All lndia School GamesFederation and have won medals or positions upto 3'o place.

(f) Next preference will be given to those, who have been awarded National Awardin physical efficiency under National Physical Efficiency Drive.

(g) lrrespective of levels of participation and medal won, a Field Trial in respectivesport will be carried out before final selection.

(h) Specimen of Sports Certificate of different levels are attached to thisadvertisement from Form - 1 to Form - 5.

10. Selection Process.

(a) Candidate Verification. The candidates in possession of valid call letters andphoto lD proof like Voter lD, Driving License, Aadhaar Card will only be permitted toenter in the recruitment rally site.

(b) Initial Documentation. All candidates will have to undergo documentation, in

which candidates will have to produce all original documents / certificates pertaining toage, education, caste (in case of availing age relaxation), sports and domicile/PRC.

(c) The candidates found correct in initial verification and documentation will only bepermitted to undergo Physical Standard Test and Field Trial.

(b) Candidates seeking relaxation in height and chest will require to submit thecertificate regarding their community from concerned District Authorities. (f) Candidates who are found eligible in PST will undergo Field Trial.

(S) Gonduct of Field Trial. The Field Trial in all disciplines will be conducted by aBoard of Officers at Rally site.

(i) Candidates should be in possession of personal sports dress / gear, kit,equipment and tools which are requisite for Field Trial in the sports discipline he /she applied for. No dress and kits will be provided by the Recruiting Agency.

(ii) Marks will be awarded to candidates as per their performance in the FieldTrial. Merit list will be prepared based on performance in Field Trail. In case of atie, preference will be given as per Paragraph 9 above.

(iii) Pregnancy at the time of PST and Field Trial will be considered ad isqualification and pregnant female candidates shall be rejected at this stage.An undertaking of not being pregnant will be taken from all female candidatesbefore PST and Field Trial.

(iv) Rejection slip will be issued to the candidates who are not qualified in PSTand Field Trial.

(h) Appeal aqainst Phvsical Standard Test (PST). Candidates declareddisqualified in Physical Standard Test can prefer an appeal to the Appellate Authority forre-measurement of Height and Chest only. The appeals of the candidates shall bedisposed off on the same day by the Appellate Authority.

(j) Detailed Medical Examination (DME) The candidates who qualify in FieldTrial in respective sports discipline will undergo Detailed Medical Examination (DME).The Medical Standards are as under:-

(ii) The candidates must not have knock-knee, flat foot, varicose veins, squintin eyes and they should possess high colour vision. The candidates will be testedfor colour vision by ISIHARA's test as well as Edrioh Green Lantern test.

(iii) Must be in good mental and bodily healthy and free from any physicaldefect likely to interfere with the efiicient performance of their duties.

(iv) Criteria to Determine Permissibilitv of Tatoo. The practice to engraving/tattooing in India is prevalent since time immemorial, but has been limited to depict thename or a religious figure, invariably on inner aspect of forearm and usually on left side.On the other hand the present young generation is considerably under the influence ofwestern culture and thus the number of potential recruits bearing skin art had grownenormously over the year, which is not only distasteful but distract from good order and

(aa) Content. Being a secular country, the religious sentiments of ourcountrymen are to be respected and thus tattoos depicting religioussymbol or figure and the name as followed in Indian army, are to bepermitted.

(ab) Location. Tatoos marked on traditional sites of the body like inneraspect of forearm, but only LEFT forearm being non saluting limb ordorsum of the hands are to be allowed.

(ac) Size. Size must be less than % of the particular part (Elbow orHand) ofthe body.

NUpr The candidates will be examined as per the Revised MedicalGuidelines May 2015 issued by ADG (Medical) CAPF, NSG & AR.

(k) Appeal aqainst Findinqs of Detailed Medical Examination. lf a candidate isdeclared UNFIT in the Detailed Medical Examination (DME), the grounds for rejectionwill be communicated to him/ her by the Presiding Officer. lf the rejected candidate isnot satisfied with the findings of the Medical Officer, he/she will obtain Form 1, 2 & 3from the Presiding Officer of Recruitment Board concerned to prefer an appeal forReview Medical Examination (RME) within 15 days from the date of issue ofinformation in which the findings of the Medical Officers is communicated to him/her.The appeal should necessarily contain the following (a) Review Medical ExaminationFee (Rs 25) non-refundable through a Postal Order in favour of concerned authority tobe intimated by the Presiding Officer of Recruitment Board and (b) Appeal Form 1, 2 & 3issued by the DME Board declaring the candidate as Unfit. Fitness certificate other thanForm 3 (provided by the Presiding Officer of Recruitment Board to the candidate) will notbe considered for Review Medical Examination (RME) and appeal will be rejectedstraightway. The fitness certificate on Form 3 is essential to consider his/ her case forReview Medical Examination and not for any other purpose.

(l) Those candidates whose appeals are found in order will be intimated by Email/SMS through Email lD and Mobile Phone numbers provided by him / her in OnlineApplication Form to appear for Review Medical Examination (RME) and their list willalso be uploaded in the Assam Rifles website www.assamrifles.qov.in. No intimation willbe sent by post.

(m) The decision of the Review Medical Examination Board will be final andsecond appeal will not be entertained as per instructions of the Government and noreply of the correspondence / second appeal will be given/ entertained.

; - Being declared FIT in Medical Examination will not guarantee any tegalclaim or ight to any candidate for final appointment in Govemment seruice.

11. Final Selection. Final selection will be done on the basis of achievements andperformance in Field Trials / level of participation. Please note that merely qualifying in alltests does not guarantee the Final Selection into the Assam Rifles. The Final Selection willonly be made on the basis of position of the candidates in Merit List in accordance with theavailability of vacancies in the respective sports discipline.

12. Merit List and lssue of Provisional Appointment Letter. The candidateswho qualify in all respects i.e. Level of participation/ achievements, Physical Standard Test(PST), Medical Examination Test and performance in Field Trial will be placed in Merit Listdepending upon discipline wise vacancies allocated. Provisional appointment letters will beassued to the Meritorious candidates in accordance to the vacancies available against

13. Reiection of Applications. In case the information furnished by the candidates in theApplication Form is found to be false at any stage of the Recruitment Rally and even at a laterstages, the candidature of such candidates will be summarily rejected without any notice.Appropriate action will also be taken against such candidates as per the provisions of law byregistering an FIR with the Police.

14. The candidates will not be considered for recruitment if involved/ convicted/ arrested inany criminal case under IPC or any other Act of the Central Government or State Government.

15. Candidate belonging to the physically handicapped category is not eligible to apply forthis recruitment.

16. MOBILES AND OTHER ELECTRONIC GADGETS ARE BANNED WITHIN THEPREMISES OF RECRUITMENT RALLY SITES/ TRIAL CENTRES.

17 . Assam Rifles authorities are not responsible for any type of arrangement ofaccommodation / food / transportation for the candidates during the recruitment process.

't8. Assam Rifles authorities will not be held responsible for any damage/ injury/ death/ lossto the individual, if any, sustained during the entire recruitment process including the FieldTrials and transit.

19. Compassionate ground appointment scheme is not applicable to this Recruitment Rally.

20. The first phase of the recruitment may take 10 to 20 days to complete.

21. No TA / DA is admissible.

22. Vacancies are tentative and may increase or decrease. The vacancies so notified are

subject to variation and the Assam Rifles reserves the right to make any changes in theadvertisement or cancel it without assigning any reasons.

23. The candidates those who are not in possession of requisite documents will not bepermitted to attend the Recruitment Rally.

24. Overcrowdinq. To avoid over-crowding, only candidates will be permitted to enterRecruitment Rally Site; Parentslfriends are advised not to accompany candidates. Candidateswill not be permitted to attend the recruitment rally on any other date except the one mentionedon the call letter.

25. Candidates Provisionally Selected will be covered under New Pension Scheme (NPS).

26. Pav Scale. Pay scale and other allowance will be as admissible to Assam RiflesPersonnel.

27. Climate at Shillong is cold and candidates are advised to carry warm clothing and

sleeping bags / blankets with them.
