Bosch welding control of the PS 2000 series for process control and regulatingof resistance welding systems.

The complete operative system consists of three functional units:

1. Programming module PSP 20002. Time~. module PSS 20003. Power- and supply module PSL 2000.

The programming module incorporates a touch sensitive panel, which is standardfor all types of timers. The front plate carries an exchangeable program cardwith the action chart which applies to the control function of the particulartype of timer to be used.

The function and display fields are described on this card.

On the action charta separate code number is allocated to each parameter.

The touch sensitive panel is used', for progranuning and displaying parameter data.It is for standardized use for all control versions. The handling is virtuallythe same for all applications. .

The progranuning field is divided into 5 function fields:

3 _ Progra.:m. Cards

Together with the touch sensitive panel, the program card is used fortype-specific programming. Each independent type of timer of any functionhas its own individually prepared program card with action chart. The program cards are delivered together with their corresponding timermodule. They must be inserted by the user into the opening in the programmingmodule intended for this purpose.

The action chart shows the timer sequence which ispossible far each type of timer. The differentfunctions are identified by means af parameter numbers?

The action chart separately illustrates the

- valve activationmarked with the symbol ~

- times (3In the horizontal ax1S with the symbol cyc.(time in cycles), the different times of the sequel'l~'"

are marked by parameter numbers. )

- weId current/heat during weId time .I4c:rThe parameter numbers for the weId current andheat values are also given in the horizontalaxis, behind the delayed firing symbol.

The ~ction chart includes the followingtimes for the control sequence:

1. Pressure times without heat/weld currentsuch as

@) = 1st squeeze time

@ = squeeze time

@ =pause time

@ = hold time

2. Pressure times with heat/weld currentsuch as

The time axlS is drawn horizontally.

The meaning of the individual times, e.g. squeezetime, weId time, hold time, etc., can be gatheredfrom the complete diagram (allocation of currenttimes to valve times).

The parameters on the horizontal axis of thesymbol ~ are used for identifying the heat orthe weId current which is to become effectiveduring that particular weId time period.

3.5 Stepper Function

(Only contained in timer units PSS 2081 ••• B and PSS 2037.0B)

This function serves to compensate for electrode wear by increasing the heatdepending on the number of welded spots.

In order to activate this function, a number of parameters must be input iotothe timer via the programming module.

The programcards witb the marking UStepper ~"on the bottom right-handcorner have explanations of the different 'parameter ~eys on their reversesides.

See diagram on reverse side of program card.

Parameter 50 - 59 marks the number of spots for the individual step (up to thenumber indicated for the step~ the heat/weld current indicated for this stepwill be valid).

Parameter 60 - 69 marks the heat/weld current effective 1n the individualstep.

The actual number oe spots can be displayed uhderparameter no. 70 and'can also be modified.

Tf the 10 heat steppings are not to be fully used, this can be effected byinputting "Number of spots 0000" in the step that is no longer desired (thisalso applies in principle for switching off the stepper function. Number ofspots adjustment step 0 - set parameter no. 50 to 0000).

The max. number of welds corresponds to the last valid entry of number ofspots in the heat stepping table.

Further special functions, which are not described in this manual, are to behandled in principle like the functions described here.

5.8 Diagnostics Display Field "D"

On the PSP-2000 touch sensitive panel, there is the "Diagnostics" display,.design'=.ted by a "D". This is where the most important operating~?onditions and Cau~t messages are displayed.

The display appears in 2-digit codes.

The decoding table is on the programming card for the particular timermodule.

Operating conditions =code no. i 80Fault messages =code no. l 80

Each time a fault has been signalled and eliminated, the control must be"reset" again. This is done either by

1. actuating the data input. and the reset key on the programming field

~+~.2. o~ by actuating the green reset key on the front plate of the timer module

~3. or by external resetting (only possible with B-module. !)

Resetting is not necessary after the display of operating conditions.

Special feature: Input/output status signals! In the case of faults or when a control is put into operation, the operatorcan additionally make use of "status signals" with respect to inputs andoutputs aside from the standard fault messages.

This means that for each individual input, the information can be obtained asto whether +24 V are present or not, and for each individual output as towhether there is a +24 V output signal or not.

Display indicatesoperating status"setting" (no weId).

By simultaneousIyactuating the settingkey and the input key,the operating status"operation" (weId) isactivated.

External setting

Another possibility ofexternally settingweId/no weId is toapply 24 V d.c. atterminal 14 of thetimer module. If 24 V d.c. areapplied,at terminal14, the diagnosticsdisplay reads 00.If the voltage is 0 orinterrupted, thedisplay reads "noweId".An internal orexternal switchoverfrom "weId" to "noweId" becomesimmediately valid andis executed. A .switchover from "no .weId" to "weid" willbecome effective onlyoutsidethefunctional sequence.
