f In 3QCY21, Castrol’s revenue is likely to increase by 19% QoQ, while its EBITDA is expected to increase by 24% QoQ to Rs2.4bn. Management is confident it will bounce back with a strong quarter, with unlock measures taken across the country. The price realization is expected to improve on the back of a price hike across segments to cope with higher base oil prices.

f The expansion of Jio-BP retail stores (expected to 5,000 + sites) in the next few years would also be advantageous to CSTRL, which would help the company strengthen its network. We expect Castrol to report a CAGR of 13% over CY20-CY23E. The key medium-term catalysts for the stock are: No Adverse Impact of electric vehicles, conventional fuel to stay relevant in medium-term, base oil market dynamic to remain unchanged, and foray into the car care market in partnership with 3M India.

f Castrol’s valuation is inexpensive compared to FMCG majors, thereby recommend to BUY with a 2-year target price of Rs.169.

MARKET SYNOPSIS

f On Thursday, NIFTY-50 witnessed

sharp decline after a stable

start and extended loss during

the day. On the lower the index

found support at around its prior

low connecting rising trendline

and erased partial intraday loss.

Finally, the index finished trade at

18,178-level, with cut of 89 points.

f NSE Cash segment reported

turnover of Rs85,714 crore as

compared to Rs94,188 crore

reported earlier.

f Overall market breadth remained

negative, where 922 stocks

advanced against 1,117 declined

stocks.

f Mixed trend was observed across

the sectoral indices during the day, where PSU Bank emerged as a top gainer with the increase of 2.7%. However IT index reported

the highest decline (i.e. 2.5%).

NSE-NIFTY OUTLOOK

f Continuing its prior daily falling trend, NIFTY-50 slipped to 6-day low of 18,048-level. Its hourly RSI reversed from its oversold zone and

given buy signal. Since 17th of Sep’21, the index bounced after witnessing 2.6%-2.8% fall from its respective tops and recorded new

high subsequently. So far, the index witnessed ~3% fall from its life-time-high of 18,604 (on intraday basis). There are high possibilities

of a trend reversal. A stable move above its 20-period EMA on hourly timeframe chart (placed at 18,260-level) will not only invalidate

near-term decline, but also confirm a bullish trend reversal. In the meanwhile, the index may oscillate in the narrow range. On the

lower side, now the index will find support at around 17,950-level.

f As for the day, support is placed at around 18,023 and then at 17,867 levels, while resistance is observed at 18,359 and then at 18,540

levels.

Derivatives Snapshot f NIFTY50 opened higher on back of positive global cues and traded volatile with swings in the last one hour of trade. Nifty closed down by 88

points at 18,178 levels. Among the nifty stocks 22 advanced and 28 declined during the day.

f Among sectors it was a mixed bag with IT, Metals and FMCG to decline by 2% respectively while Financial Services and PSU Banks gained by 1.4% for the day.

f Broader market indices remained negative with NIFTY 100, 200 and 500 to close down by 0.5% average while midcap indices and small cap indices declined by 0.3% for the day.

f Nifty Oct futures end with 25 points premium at 18,203 mark while on other hand, Bank Nifty Oct futures ended with the premium of 75 points at 40,105 mark.

f Nifty has support near to 17,950-18000 levels and expect some bounce from the lower range over the next few days. On the higher side 18,600 will act as strong resistance from current levels.

Sectoral Activity: Amongst sectoral index Banks and NBFC remained in focus with positive momentum.

Stock Activity: RBL Bank and HDFC have witnessed long buildup in today’s trade.
