The Compact propellers ara manufactured with five basic llange mount Jings: "F" flange, "L'flange, "K'flange, "R", and "N". r

The "F" llange has six '/, inch sluds on a 4-inch bolt circle, plus two ,h.inch dowel pins. These dowel pins ar€ located lo provide a specilicangular relationship of lhe prop€ll€r with respoct to the crankshafl, madenecessary by the vibrational characteristics ol ths combanation. Thoparticular dowel pin location is identrfied by the tirst letter in lh€ hubmodel designation, such as BHC-C2YF.

Th€ 'L' llange is an SAE No. 2 flang€ with //ra-inch studs; whil€ the "lCflang€ is also SAE No. 2 tlange with '/a-inch studs. The "R" as same as"K' except rt has 5 drive bushings, instead of 4.

HAFTZELL SYNCHROPHASEFS

All Hartzell synchrophasers op€rate in basically the same mannerregardl€ss ot th€ synchrophaser model o{ lh€ typ€ of aircratt onwhich il is inslalled. The synchrophaser is designed to hold theengines in sync and phase atler lhe pilol has manually synchronazedthe engines in th6 conventional mann€r.

To anain a quick and pos[ive respons€ wh€n oporaling thb syslam, the engines should b€ synchronized by th€ tilrl es clos€ as possabl€wilh th€ Phas€ swilch in the Manual Dcilion.
