Currently, there is a shortage of high quality faculty and researchers in India. IIM Raipur started its Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) in 2012 to create high quality researcher. FPM is its full- time doctoral level programme.

But there are many working professionals who like to pursue doc-toral level programme but are not able to do so on account of their commitment to organisations, families, and so on. Therefore, IIM

Raipur specifically designed a doctoral level programme, Executive Fellow Programme in Management (EFPM), for these executives in 2013. It has received a very good response from public sector, private sector, and gov-ernment organisations last two years.

EFPM fosters independent thought and fuels research thinking, which, in turn, would result in valuable contri-bution to the existing body of knowledge. The uniqueness of EFPM is “experienced executives” who can con-tribute to the body of knowledge by doing research on the contemporary issues and problems in management.

The fifth batch of the programme is starting from June 2017. I invite you to be a part of this professionally re-warding and enriching experience in creating knowledge through high quality research.

The Executive Fellow Program at IIM Raipur (EFPM) was started in the year 2013 considering the requirement for recognized academics in the country. As Doctoral degree is a must for entering into good B-Schools of India, a number of practitioners, who can otherwise be a good teacher, miss the opportunity to share their knowledge with upcoming generations. Such experienced practitioners would get benefitted from this program and may consider switching their career paths. The EFPM program is mapped along

the lines of our full-time Fellow program and aims to train industry professionals as researchers and teachers. Teaching by industry practitioners will certainly help advance level of teaching in the B-Schools.

EFPM program is quite challenging and rigorous and offers its scholars a unique opportunity to conduct research that addresses the problems facing industry and the society from an academic perspective and thus help advance the frontiers of knowledge. IIM Raipur has now a fraternity of around 30 Executive fellow members engaged in various streams of management research.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) brand has now become synonymous with innovation, talent and zeal for success and contribution in management. The Govt of India setup IIM Raipur in 2010 to meet the growing demand for top quality professionals. It is situated at Raipur in the state of Chhattisgarh-one of the fastest growing states of India, with its rich mineral, forest, natural and local resources. Post-Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) was started in 2010 whereas Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) and Post- Graduate Programme in Management for Working Executive (PGPWE) were started in 2012 & Executive Fellow Programme in Management (EFPM) was started in 2013.

Presently IIM Raipur operates from the Government Engineering College Campus, Sejbahar, Raipur. The Government of Chhattisgarh has allotted 200 acres of land for the proposed IIM Raipur campus at Naya Raipur. The proposed campus will be a state-of-the-art campus, presenting a blissful mix of modern architecture, culture & heritage of Chhattisgarh.

The Institute aims at bringing a global perspective to all its programmes and activities in a fast changing global economic environment. The Institute also encourages an overseas exposure for its students with the belief that it will help them to assimilate best management practices and understand the importance of cross-culture issues in management.

Right from its inception, the Institute focuses on contributing to the growth and development of the Nation, region and society at large. As such it gives importance to courses and managerial trainings that are moulded in a way true to the culture and unique requirements of the state and organisations here in. About the ProgrammeExecutive Fellow Programme in Management (EFPM) is a unique doctoral programme in management specifically de-signed for working professionals with minimum 7 years of work experience in industry.

With the rapid expansion of management education in India, it has become inevitable that business school cater to the need of the faculty by producing excellent researchers and academicians who have a strong practical experience of the corporate world. Management education will only be powerful and effective if the people with their real life experiences are brought to the academic forefront.

EFPM at IIM Raipur is an attempt in that direction. The Programme is intended to bring industry and academia close to each other. By providing scholarly inputs to those who already have domain knowledge of their discipline, the pro-gramme will offer prospects of a fulltime/part time career within academia or in research positions outside the aca-demia world.

Objectives of the Programme

The major objective of this programme is to develop high quality researches in all areas of management. The specific objectives of the programme are:

y To provide research scholars with necessary skills to identify and research complex issues in the field of management.

y To contribute to the creation, transmission and application of knowledge in the field of management. y fjh y To do research and publications of international standard in inter-disciplinary areas of management that will add

value to the society and to the body of knowledge. y k y To meet the teaching and research manpower needs of academia and industry by producing highly skilled individ-

uals with exceptional analytical ability and training in conducting specialized research.

Award of the title

Participants would be awarded the “Executive Fellow in Management of IIM Raipur” on successful completion of the Programme.

The programme has two components. The first component of the programme consists of an on-campus course work involving a series of courses followed by a comprehensive examination. The second component of the programme consists of thesis work.

The on-campus course work has three modules:

Module 1: Foundation in Management

This is eight week integrated course on foundation of management. This module can be waived for students with PGP/EPGP/PGPWE from IIM’s.

Module 2: Core courses

This is 120 credit hours integrated course on core subjects in management research. This module will contain subjects that will create foundation to research.

y Multivariate Data Analysis y Econometric Methods y Business Research Process y Qualitative Research Methods

Module 3: Area Courses

This is 120 hours integrated course on area specifically chosen by the candidate. This would include FPM level elective courses. This module will also comprise of seminars and assignment presentations.

IIM Raipur reserves the right to change any of the above courses, structure and timing of the programme.

Comprehensive Examination

Two months after the completion of the course work and submissions of CIS and Case Study with Teaching Notes, a candidate has to take a comprehensive examination to assess the suitability of the candidate for the thesis work. The tentative date for the examination is in June 2017.If a candidate is declared pass, he / she go to the next stage, else he/she may be asked to do a term paper successfully to qualify for the next stage. If a candidate withdraws from the programme after completing this stage, he may get a certificate titled “Certificate in Management Teaching.”

Thesis Work

This phase embarks students on his/her doctoral level research, comprising of thesis proposal defence, thesis writing, and thesis examination. The thesis should be a scholarly contribution to the knowledge pertinent to the understand-ing and resolution of management problems in the chosen area.

The institute presently offers Executive FPM in the following area of specialization:

AdmissionsIIM Raipur’s EFPM aims to admit individuals with exceptional academic background, strong motivation to do research. Since these programs exclusively for the professionals with industrial experience, it is expected that research scholars will work towards developing a methodology, understanding and providing solutions for real life management problems, apart from developing a theoretical framework. Applicants are evaluated on their past academic achievements, motivation and preparation for the programme, letters of recommendation, scores on standard tests and a personal interview with the Experts.

Admission Requirements

The candidates to apply for IIM Raipur’s EFPM programme must have one of the following qualifications obtained from any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislation in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under section 3 of UGC Act 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD Government of India, or an equivalent qualification from an Institution approved by AICTE.

A Master’s degree in any discipline, with at least 55 percent aggregate marks or equivalent grade point average OR

A PGP/EPGP/PGPWE from IIMs with minimum grade point equivalent to 6.0 out of 10 point scale (with no ‘F’ s and not more than two ‘D’s in the first year of PGP).

ORA Professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS with at least 55 percent aggregate marks or equivalent grade point average

ORA Five year/four year Integrated Master’s degree programme in any discipline, with at least 55 percent aggregate marks, obtained after completing higher secondary schooling(10+2) or equivalent.

ORA Four Years/Eight Semester bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. Engg.) with at least 60 percent aggregate marks or equivalent grade point average.

ANDAge should not be more than 55 years as on June 1, 2017.

ANDMinimum 7 years of managerial/ entrepreneurial/ professional experience as on June 1, 2017 after graduation. The programme is open to all nationalities.

Admission Process

Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria stated above are required to submit any one of the following Test Score with their application form.

1. Test Score (CAT/GRE/GMAT/GATE/UGC-JRF) / RATThe CAT/GRE/GMAT/GATE/UGC-JRF percentile will be used for shortlisting candidates for PI. The tentative cate-gory-wise minimum percentile is as follows:

Admission Committee of IIM Raipur will decide the number of candidates to be called for PI on the basis of short listed merit list prepared for each category and specialization. However, if the actual number of shortlisted candidates were found to be less (more) than the required number of candidates to be called for PI category-wise, then the overall as well as section wise minimum score would be reduced (increased) to get the desired number of candidates.

ORRAT If a candidate does not have above score card he/she has to appear Research Aptitude Test (RAT) to be conducted by IIM Raipur.

Exemption : Candidates who have already obtained a PGP/EPGP/PGPWE from IIMs with minium grade point equivalent to 6.5 out of 10 scales, with no Fs & not more than two Ds in the 1st year of PGP are exempted from the above mentioned tests.

1. Personal Interview Upon being shortlisted as per the score of entrance test the candidate has to appear for a personal interview at IIM Raipur in front of the Doctoral Research Committee (DRC). The DRC will assess the suitability of the candidates for research work based on the portfolio of the candidate. The committee in particular will look into a consistently good academic record, professional accomplishments, research interest etc.

2. Preparing the Merit List Merit List will be prepared based on Test Score Personal Interview, Academic Qualification and Relevant Work Experience, Research Aptitude & Publications and Reference Letter.

Criteria for Preparing the Merit List:-The criteria for preparing the Merit List will be as follows:1 Test Score : 20% IIM Raipur will accept CAT/GRE/GMAT/GATE/UGC-JRF scores of last two years.2 Personal Interview ( PI) : 30%3 Reference Letter : 05%4 Academic and Work Experience: 45%

Acceptance of Admission OfferA candidate receiving admission offer from IIM Raipur and accepting the offer within the stipulated date needs to send along with Offer Acceptance a non-refundable commitment fee of ` 50,000 (the date of submission will be mentioned in admission offer letter) which will be adjusted against the amount of first Term Fee.

4. WithdrawalIf a candidate subsequently wishes to withdraw the offer within the withdrawal date specified in the Offer Letter, Offer Acceptance Amount will be refunded after deducting ̀ 1000/- as processing charges. In the event of withdrawal from the Programme after registration, and if seat consequently falling vacant gets filled by another candidate by the last date of admission, IIM Raipur will return the fees collected with proportionate deductions of fee and hostel rent, where applicable.

5. Registration and Inauguration of the Programme Registration and Inauguration of the Programme will be held on June 12, 2017.

How to Apply

The completed application for admission to the EFPM (2017) programme shall include the following:

i. EFPM application formApplication form can be downloaded from IIM Raipur website: www.iimraipur.ac.in. Completed application form together with all relevant documents and application fee should reach to the:

The last date of receiving application forms is Feb 28, 2017. If a candidate wish to apply for more than one area separate application form along with all necessary documents and Demand Draft (if applicable) is required. A candidate can apply maximum of two areas

ii. Supporting Documents: The supporting documents includes the following:

• Certified copies of School and University degrees.• Certified copies of mark sheets or transcripts of grades obtained during the course of study for the above

degrees. Transcripts in languages other than Hindi and English must be submitted along with certified translations.

• Two references with their contact details and their respective email ids from academics who have taught the candidate or with whom the candidate has worked closely on scholarly work. However, the supervisor at work could write a reference if the candidate has been away from the university for long.

• Certified copies of Work Experience Certificate.• Caste Certificate (if applicable).

It is necessary that candidates applying for waiver must attach copies of both side of the grade sheet to ascertain the equivalence between the grading systems of other IIMs / Universities / Institutions, without which, the application for waiver will not be considered.

iii. Application feeDemand Draft of ` 500 in favour of Indian Institute of Management Raipur payable at Raipur. There is no application fee for SC/ST/NC-OBC/DAP applicants who submit an attested copy of SC/ST/NC-OBC/DAP certificate.For any query, please email: [email protected]

iv. No-Objection CertificateCandidates have to submit No-Objection certificate from their employer at the time of admission.

Reservation

Reservation for eligible categories will be as per Government of India rules applicable for doctoral programme at the time of admission.

Timing

Library opens from 9 A.M. to 10 P.M. on all working days, from 12P.M. to 8 P.M. on Saturdays and from 9.30 A.M. to 6 P.M. on Sundays. Library will remain closed on holidays. Digital library is available round the clock

Resources

Books The library has successfully built up a comprehensive collection of over 2, 68,500 books from which 2,59,000 (Apx) books are available in electronic form and 9500 (Apx) books are in print format.

Dissertation and Theses The Library subscribes to 15 lakh Dissertation and Theses on management and its allied areas.

Journals Library subscribes more than 14000 journals in electronic format.

Magazines The Library subscribes to 30 print magazines specific to the academic and research needs of the institute.

News Papers The library subscribes to 2318 newspapers to cater to the needs of the students and academic community. Out of which 2300 are available on electronic format and 18 are in print format

E Resources

The library subscribes to a number of important databases that are accessible on the campus network as well as through Remote Access. Library also provides Discovery Services for single window search of all E - Journals & E - Books.

Library: Library acts as the main learning resource centre of the institute. It has been providing up to date and nascent information resources and services both in hard and soft forms to the academic and administrative communities since 2010. It has thus become an indispensable learning resource centre for students, researchers and faculty members of the institute. The library has built a robust collection of books, subscription to print jour-nals, magazines, newspapers, and many other resources like student’s project reports, CDs/DVDs etc.

The library has been automated with Libsys 7 LMS and RFID Systems.

Bank & ATM at the campus

The campus has IDBI Bank Branch and Union Bank of India ATM within the campus and the other ATMs that are close to the campus are Bank of India, Canara Bank, SBI etc. The Bank of India, IDBI Bank ATM is 500 meters whereas the others are around 2 kms away.

Internet and IT Infrastructure

The Institute is Wi-Fi and LAN enabled (1 GBPS high-speed Internet) with connectivity provided by NKN (National Knowledge Network). You will be provided E-Mail Ids on IIM Raipur Domain (@iimraipur.ac.in) through Google which has over 30GB of inbox storage. The Institute has Video Conferencing facilities on the campus itself and is used actively during recruitment process and a newly incorporated computer lab as well. The institute also plans to setup smart classes for enhanced student- teacher interaction.

Hostel Accommodation

IIM Raipur provides bachelors twin sharing accommodation to students with separate areas of residence for Males and Females. The room contains 2 sets of Bed, Mattress, Almirah, Chair, Study Table and Cabinet. All the furniture has been procured from Godrej. There is presently no provision of separate accommodation for Married Candidates. The programme being fully residential requires the candidates to compulsory avail accommodation from the Institute. Washing Machines from Whirlpool and LG are provided on each floor along with Aqua guard and Water Coolers. Geysers are available for hot water.

The mess serves meals and evening snacks. The Mess

Committee decides the menu for the week and is able

to accommodate requests from students. The mess

serves all types of food including South Indian, Chinese

and Non-Veg (thrice a week). The mess is managed by

a private contractor. The payment for mess is made at

the beginning of every trimester along with the trimester

fees. The campus has a 24X7 canteen on the campus and

caters to the late night pangs of hunger of students. The

place is pretty much the epicenter at around 2 am.

Sports and Gym

At IIM Raipur sports is a way of life, with Man U fans dueling with Arsenal during match telecasts or batches competing in coveted tournaments that take place round the year, the place is never short on sporting action. The Institute has grounds for Football and Cricket. Apart from that courts for Badminton and tables for TT make sure that action goes all night in the campus. The good light lit grounds allow late night matches and tournaments that have been started right from the inception of the institute. Indoor games like Carom and Chess are also present. A state of art gym with all modern equipment’s is also present.

A Photocopy and Print Out facility is available within the campus that offers these facilities at competitive prices.
