6 to 12 months ofhospitality related training

(Can be extended upto 2 years)

All hotel management and hospitality degree

programs include a mandatory component

This is known asInternship Training or Industrial

Training

Internship training is vital and critical for a hospitality

management students for the following reasons

It defines exactly what this industry is all about and presents an overall view of how it operates and functionsIt conveys whether you have chosen the right career an whether you are indeed a good match for it

It helps you select or confirm the career department of your choice

This training must be totally enriching, fulfilling and provide you with the best possible practical learning experience that carry you forward, be useful in your career ahead and go far beyond the theoretical classroom education

WHAT IS AN IDEAL HOSPITALITY

INDUSTRIAL TRAINING PROGRAM

1. The best training would be one in a hotel with an organized training program that orients you in all the departments and allows you to learn without limitations

2. Today, there is a very large number of hotel management institutes in India attempting to place their students in for the second year of internship training, often unsuccessfully

3. Many students fail to even land up training in a hotel, a larger number land work in properties that are not worthwhile and yet other hotels rely on these students as free labor, severely overworking (but not training) them

4. The stipend paid to you is perhaps not sufficient to cover your conveyance and related expenses

WHAT THIS DOES IS• Negatively affects your perception of the industry and

the career they have chosen• Increases your frustration and dissatisfaction• Destroys your confidence and damages your self

esteem• Provides only a working knowledge of certain

departments rather than a good overview of total hotel operations

• Leaves you with NO time to have a bit of fun – common you guys are still in college!
