NATIONAL ANNUAL YOUTH FEST
HARMONY 2021
DPS Sushant Lok is immensely elated at the colossal
achievement at the final round of the National
Annual Youth Fest, ‘Harmony 2021’ organized by
The Global Education and Leadership Foundation on
27th
November, 2021. The theme of the competition
was ‘A New World.’ The event was virtual, and the
participants had to critically examine and explain
their piece of art in front of the judges in one minute.
It was followed by a question and answer round on
their presentation and experience.
The art prodigy, Anshuman Verma of class VI A
bagged the First Prize in the event ‘Magic with
Colours’. Sia Kapoor of class VII A also qualified
for the final round, for her exemplary painting.
STORMING THE STAGE!!!
The rising actors of DPS Sushant Lok exhibited a
mesmerizing performance in the Online Inter –
School event, ‘Pratibimb Mera Pratibimb Meri
Pahchan’ organized by Rao Lal Singh Public School,
Gurgaon under the aegis of GPSC on 10th
November, 2021. The team bagged the Third Prize
in the Mime Act competition ‘Child Safety’.

November to 27th
November, 2021. It was a 13 days
virtual event conducted in two rounds. Siddharth
Nair of Class IX -F secured the Second Position in
the ‘Capture Science’ competition. In the event
‘Memezar’, the team of Aarush Khandelwal as well
as Prakhar Khandelwal of Class VIII -B and Archi
Bindra of Class VIII – C, bagged the Second Prize.

MILAN - A MEMORABLE EVENING FOR
ITS STAFF
DPS Sushant Lok celebrated the festival of Lights
‘Diwali Milan – A Cultural Extravaganza’ with its
talented team of teachers and their spouses on 2nd
November, 2021.
Colourful lights filled the stage and the night kicked
off with a variety show. The blessed Diwali flame
was lit during the Lighting of the Lamp ceremony
followed by a welcome song. Addressing all in
attendance, the Principal Mr. Surender P. Sachdeva
said that educators have to deal with young minds
and possess enormous power to influence them.
Hence, he exhorted everyone to synergize their
positivity which will translate into meaningful
thoughts & actions necessary for the teaching–
learning process. Additionally, he reminded all that
vigilance and awareness on all fronts is highly
essential in this emerging VUCA world. He
profoundly thanked all the spouses for supporting the
school unconditionally during the tough Covid
phase.
Infused with the spirit of celebration, the teachers in
their traditional costumes performed a spectacular
fusion dance and sang a mellifluous medley of
songs. There were games galore and a sumptuous
dinner.
Students are provided opportunities to showcase their talent.

EVENTS AND HAPPENINGS
Children’s Day was celebrated at DPS Sushant Lok,
with much joy and enthusiasm on 13th
November,2021.The theme of the programme was
Marvel Series/ Harry Potter,wherein students
dressed up as characters of the above mentioned
theme, and used a virtual backdrop according to the
attire.
Students of classes VI-VIII were invited to the
virtual program,which began with a video
compilation of wishes for Children’s Day from the
School Heads and their teachers.
The students participated in the online game
‘Treasure Hunt’, wherein they were given clues by
the teachers, to hunt for the objects in the house, and
present it on the screen. There was much excitement
as students rushed here and there to look for the
objects.Students also had a wonderful and informal
interaction with their teachers.Overall,the program
concluded with much fun and laughter and would
definitely be an unforgettable memory for every
student.

CHILDREN’S DAY
DPS SUSHANT LOK LAUNCHES TED -ED CLUB AMIDST GREAT FANFARE
The TED-Ed Club of DPS, Sushant Lok hosted its inaugural session of the Open Mic Exhibition for
both internal and external students from different schools on 11th
November, 2021 with vim and vigour.
DPS Sushant Lok, which is now a licensed ‘TED–Ed Student Talks School’, witnessed more than 80
talented students from all four Wings of the school including a few participants from other local schools,
participate and present their thoughts with passion and intent.
The function commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by Principal Mr. Surender P Sachdeva.
Addressing the gathering, he appreciated the endeavour of all the participating students, who had worked
meticulously to identify, research, curate, validate and present their golden ideas, in the form of short talks.
To initiate and introduce the audience to TED-Ed, a specially designed video encapsulating the journey of
TED-Ed Open Mic Exhibition was showcased. Ms. Neera Channan, DPS Sushant Lok TED-Ed Student Talks
Leader cum school organizer, shared details of the event. This was followed by a mesmerizing cultural
performance by students of DPS Sushant Lok. Soon after, the participating students delivered their riveting
TED-Ed Talk, on their ‘Golden Idea’.
The enriching and thought-provoking session culminated with the felicitation of all the participants. The
Vice Principal Ms. Roopali Kudesia, congratulated all the participating student speakers for their
inspiring and well-researched ideas.
DPS Sushant Lok believes that the TED-Ed Open Mic Exhibition will continue to provide all the
participants and audience with a unique opportunity to experience innovative thoughts and ideas across
multiple disciplines.

INTER HOUSE FOOTBALL AND SKILLS SHOWCASE
COMPETITION
Maintaining a perfect balance between scholastic
and co-scholastic activities, DPS Sushant Lok
believes that sports have the power to inspire,
unite and create hope for the future generations. To
uplift the spirit of the learners and to provide them a
blissful break from the mundane routine, an Inter
House ‘Football n Skills Showcase’ competition was
held on 25th
November, 2021. Students across all the
houses participated with great zeal.

ALMANAC ACTIVITY
Creating a holistic learning environment with hands
on exploration, varied cognitively challenging
activities were conducted in the Science Class of
Grades VI to VIII. The activities were spread across
the month of November, 2021. The effervescent
students of Class VI prepared a ‘kokedama’ and the
enthusiastic learners of Class VII created a self-
watering planter which educated them to be sensitive
towards the environment along with the
enhancement of their creativity skills.
On the other hand, the vivacious scholars of Class
VIII designed parachutes. They were further asked
to write one of their own character traits on a flash
card and place it as the weight on the parachute in
order to stabilize it. Symbolizing positive attitude,

the activity inspired the learners to be afloat against
all odds.
Nurturing the scientific temperament.
CLUBS – MIDDLE WING
In the Mask Club, the activity ‘Party Quirks’ was conducted. Students took turns to play the role of the
host and guests. Participants who played the role of guests were allocated a secret quirky character.
Some acted as detective, busy employee, marvel character, confused person, bodyguard, etc. and
interacted with the host, until the host guessed the name of each character.
In the Indradhanush Hindi Club, students enjoyed preparing scripts of a street play. The students
prepared different scenes, dialogues and rhymes through discussion.
In the Empassion Club, students were asked to share their innovative ideas and make a poster to motivate
everyone to donate clothes and help the needy. Students wrote an article on "Donation" and which was
followed by a discussion about the same.
In the Thunder Sports Club, students started with dynamic warm up exercises followed by stepper
challenge and Shot -a-Squat. The class ended with a fun game.
In Notez and Beatz Music Club, students practiced the first verse of the annual presentation song and
rehearsed the chorus as well as the initial lines of the humming portion. Five orchestra music notes were
completed.
In Tinkering Club, " I'm a Puzzle Software'' was introduced where students created a puzzle and they
solved it. The difficulty level was increased at each level.
In the Prakriti Eco Club, students were shown a video on composting, which was followed by a discussion
on the composting process and its importance. Students started the process of composting using kitchen
waste , garden waste etc. Students were asked to make a ppt on the same.
INTRODUCTION TO ADOLESCENCE- LET US LEARN AND EVOLVE
With an aim to prepare the young adults of the school for the inevitable changes they will experience as they
enter adolescence, DPS Sushant Lok organized a webinar on ‘Introduction to Adolescence- Let us Learn and
Evolve’ for students of Grade VI on November 20, 2021.The session was chaired by the expert and Founder-
President of Anugraham, Ms. Subha Chandrashekhar.
The webinar touched upon the multiple aspects of physical, social and emotional changes in adolescents.
Participants learnt from the adolescent health expert about the physical and cognitive changes adolescents
experience. Ms. Subha kept the session interactive by answering the various questions posed by the students
which not only created awareness among the early adolescents but also cleared many misconceptions related to
adolescence.
The webinar gave students a platform to discuss the least discussed yet pertinent topics
without any qualms.
LESSONS OF LIFE THROUGH CINEMA
School Cinema is an innovative tool in the field of value education that aims to create an impact on children
using the influential medium of cinema. School Cinema is a researched, film-based learning module designed
to reaffirm life-skills, values and attitudes to children, educators and parents. These sessions have really
helped in developing self-esteem and confidence of the students.
Learning life skills through school cinema, a perfect blend of entertainment and education.

PRE PRIMARY WING
Summary
The month of November was full of fervor and excitement. The online platform witnessed Chhota Bheem,
Motu, Spider man, Masha , Bat Man, Mickey Mouse , Peppa Pig and Doraemon and many more cartoon
characters coming alive on stage during the activity ‘My Favourite Cartoon Character’ conducted for
Nursery students on 9th
November,2021. The TED Ed Club of Pre Primary Wing hosted its inaugural session
of the Open Mic Exhibition on 11th
November, 2021 with vim and vigor. A plethora of activities were
conducted virtually to celebrate Children’s Day on 13th
November, where they thoroughly enjoyed making
beautiful paper roses as a tribute to the great leader, ‘Chacha Nehru’. A Magic Show was also organized for
them in the school auditorium. Gurpurab and Thanksgiving Day were also celebrated with great fervor and
joy. To motivate and groom our learners, as confident and robust speakers, Talent Hunt Show was
organized on 9th
November, 2021 in the school auditorium for the students of class I, who exhibited their
dancing, musical, oratory skills very confidently. During Hindi and English Recitation Activity, the young
poets of Nursery and class II recited beautiful compositions by well known poets. A Story Telling Activity
was conducted for the children of class I on 18th
November, 2021. As a part of their curriculum theme-
Community Helpers, a ‘Role Play’ activity was organized for the students of Nursery and Class Prep on 26th
November,2021 and 18th
November, 2021 respectively. In an endeavour to make the online teaching more
effective, a live workshop on Augmented Reality-The New Gen Pedagogy in association with TutAR was
conducted for parents and teachers of classes Pre Nursery to class II on 13th
November ,2021. An online
‘Doctor and Students’ heart to heart session was conducted for the students of Class Prep on 22nd
November, 2021 by Dr. Poorva Nandekar Joshi, a dentist by profession. She delivered a lively presentation
and engaged the children in positive oral health hygiene. Aasmi Ratna of Class Prep E bagged the Second
Prize in the Inter School Competition ‘Mystical Steps ’ on 28 th
November, hosted by N. K. Bargodia Public
School, Dwarka.

Summary
November started on a cheerful note where the TED-Ed Club hosted its inaugural session of the Open Mic
Exhibition for both internal and external students on 11th November. A day marking childhood was
celebrated with fun as the teachers made the children feel special on Children’s Day on 13th
November by
singing a medley of songs and inspiring them to enjoy life to the fullest. Under the Government of India
initiative ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’, a quiz 'Know your Paired State: Telangana', was conducted in
classes III to V to appreciate the culture, art, cuisine and dance styles of Haryana and its paired state:
Telangana. To understand how traditional games are special and different from video games of today, the
students of classes III- V had an interesting walk through the Traditional Games of India to revive fond
memories and to give them a glimpse of the past. To make the students of class III conscious of good hygiene,
a poster making activity on Health and Hygiene Habits was conducted using Coding in Scratch. The Inter-
House Speech Competition for the students of Class IV on 20th
November, saw two participants each from
the six Houses deliver articulated speech on the topics- ‘Something I Love To Do For Fun’ and ‘The Best
Thing About Having A Pet’. On 27th
November, 2021 students of class V were honoured for their excellent
academic performance during the Virtual Scholar Badge Ceremony.
