NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO. MAKE YOURSELF COMFORTABLE.


Driving comfort, ease of use and practical operation are not luxuries for DEUTZ-FAHR, but essential requirements for completing a variety of work quickly and safely. The 5D Series offers a wide selection of models and variants, but when it comes to comfort you can only choose between good and very good with DEUTZ-FAHR.

Even from the outside you can see that every vehicle – even the ba-sic Ecoline models – offers drivers a perfect workplace. Large wind-screen areas on all sides and an adjustable front windscreen provide a perfect panoramic view of tools for precise work. The wide door opening angle makes it easy to enter and exit the cab quickly.

The four post cab offers a standard roof version or a hi-visibility ver-sion with roof window. This improves all-round visibility – a crucial consideration especially for work with the front loader.

06-07 CAB

As you enter the cab, you will notice that modern ma-terials and a uniquely functional design give the latest comfort cab of the 5D Series a clean, bright and invit-ing atmosphere where the driver can feel relaxed. Every last detail of the interior has been carefully put together. All of the controls are ergonomically arranged, built into the console to the right of the driver. They are arranged by their frequency of use and are clearly colour-coded. Familiarisation of operational controls takes very little time.

A slim steering column gives the driver plenty of legroom, and the height and angle of the steering wheel can be freely adjusted to suit the individual operator. Convenient stor-age compartments and cup holders are built into the con-sole in all 5D Series models. Air conditioning is optionally available for all models. The overall ease of use increases for certain models and features. Mechanical controls in the Ecoline versions are replaced with electric or electro-hy-draulic controls on the LS and GS versions.

THREE- AND FOUR-CYLINDER, TIER4I AND TIER3, FROM 62 TO 102 HP

It is easy to fi nd the right engine power for your working applications with the 5D Series. Four engine variants are available: two state-of-the-art Tier4i FARMotion engines with three or four cylinders and two tried-and-tested 1000 Series Tier3 engines, also with three or four cylinders. All engine options deliver high torque with a broad constant power range, which means they offer optimal fuel effi ciency.

The three-cylinder FARMotion engine (capacity 2887 cc) provides con-stant power at speeds from 1800 to 2100 rpm with a maximum torque of 354 Nm and a torque increase of 40 %.

The four-cylinder FARMotion engine (capacity 3849 cc) offers constant power from 1700 to 2200 rpm and high torque even at low engine speeds. The maximum torque is 408 Nm with a torque rise of 32 %.

The 1000 Series Tier3 engines with three and four cylinders demon-strate similarly impressive values with a torque increase of up to 31 %.


04-05MOTOR10-11

ENGINES

FARMotion engines are characterised by an abudance of tech-nology: the innovative Common Rail injection system with an injection pressure of 2000 bar, injection valves with seven holes and a three-stage injection process. All of this ensures much more effective use of fuel, helping to increase engine power while reducing fuel consumption.

The diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) converts engine exhaust gases into substances that do not pollute the environment. This compact system does not consume power and requires

no maintenance or AdBlue. The externally cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system reduces nitrogen oxide emissions much more effectively than conventional technology. Some of the exhaust gas is cooled and mixed with air collected in the air intake pipe. An electronic system ensures that the mix-ture is always at the correct level. Large cylinder liners ensure smoother running, while a new crankshaft design and a rein-forced crankcase guarantee maximum performance, durabili-ty and reliability.

FARMOTION MEANS POWER, FUEL-EFFICIENCY AND SMOOTH RUNNING.


The compact DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst) system requires no maintenance.

The self-adjusting drive belt is a maintenance-free Poly Vee belt with automatic tensioner. No risk of belt slip and thus overheating.

The innovative Common Rail injection system ensures highly effective fuel combustion.

The automatic valve clearance adjustment reduces noise levels and is maintenance-free.

14-15TRANSMISSION

The front axle has been developed by SDF especially for the 5D Series. Maximum traction transfer of full differential lock is a matter of course. Four-wheel drive and differential lock are activated electro-hydraulically (or mechanically on Eco-line models).

The braking system of the 5D Series ensures maximum safety in all conditions. Each model is fi tted with four-wheel brakes as standard (oil immersed discs). Valves can distribute the braking effect between the front and rear axles depending on the situation. Of course, the handbrake is also part of the standard confi guration.

16-17 HYDRAULICSYSTEM

TURN AND LIFT JUST AS YOU WANT – FLEXIBILITY IS POWER.


The rear attachment points of the 5D Series are one of the best on the market.

A front linkage is available for the LS and GS models if desired.

The intelligent design of the attachment points makes the 5D Series what it should be – a fl exible working tool that allows you to per-form your tasks with a high level of productivity.

The 5D Series attachment points are one of the best on the market in terms of working precision, control and productivity.

A mechanical hitch control is fi tted as standard. For the LS and GS models in the 5D Series, an electronic hitch response (EHR) control is optional with fully electronic monitoring and control functions. On request, the LS and GS models can be fi tted with a front linkage.

The rear lifting capacity is 2650 kg (Ecoline) or 3000 kg (LS/GS). A maximum load of 3600 kg is possible. The front linkage can lift 1750 kg.

18-19 HYDRAULIC SYSTEM & PTO

The hydraulic pump has an output of 42 L/Min (Ecoline) or 54 L/Min on the LS and GS models. This supplies the hitch and up to three mechanically operated auxiliary valves. The PTO speeds are also uniquely varied. The 5D Series is equipped with 540/540ECO/1000 rpm speeds and ground

speed PTO. It is also possible to have also the front PTO 1000 on LS and GS versions. Fuel-saving operation in ECO mode is possible at any time with the 540ECO speed.

The PTO is activated mechanically (Ecoline) or electro-hydraulically on the the LS and GS models.

20-21MAINTENANCE

MAINTENANCE. READY FOR WORK AGAIN IN RECORD TIME.


Maintenance is straightforward, fast and convenient thanks to a single-piece bonnet with rear hinge opening. All the most important points can be reached with little effort for tool-free maintenance. It is not necessary to open the bonnet to check the engine oil. Main-tenance of the cooling system could not be easier with the under bonnet layout. Cleaning the engine air fi lter is a quick and easy job.
