They are certainly important to me.

It’s time to get working. On your tables are twelve cards, each giving

a reason why trees are important.

In your groups, your job is to rank the cards in order of importance. Which

one do you think is the most important reason and which the least? Make sure

that you discuss the reasons before you come up with your final order.

In lots of areas in the world trees are being cut down at a huge rate. They are cut down to

provide timber and areas for cattle to graze.

Scientists believe that this is having a terrible effect on our planet.
