Our Team’s Management Philosophy:

As managers, we understand there will bedifferences among our workers. We believe the workplace should be diverse, and encourage respect among co-workers. Our company’s goal is to educate others, and foster the conditions to make our workplace an enjoyable environment for everyone.

With the assistance of diversity training and consulting firms, many U.S. companies have developed special accommodations for Muslim employees.

Companies recognize Muslim employees bring valuable skills to the workplace.

Use diversity programs to attract and retain talented workers.

Texas Instruments created “serenity rooms” for Muslim employees to use for daily prayers.

Started religious affinity groups to promote inclusion.Fenner, Louise. "Muslim Employees Find Welcome Sign in U.S. Companies”

“At Microsoft, we believe that diversity enriches our performance and products, the communities where we live and work, and the lives of our employees. As our workforce evolves to reflect the growing diversity of our communities and the global marketplace, our efforts to understand, value, and incorporate differences become increasingly important.”

Microsoft’s Global Diversity & Inclusion Vision Statement: “To be led by a globally diverse workforce that consistently delivers outstanding business results, understands the various cultural demands of a global marketplace, is passionate about technology and the promise it holds to tap human potential, and thrives in a corporate culture where inclusive behaviors are valued.”

Religious Injunctions- “Never take any action that does not build a sense of community, a sense of us all working together for a commonly accepted goal.”

The Code of Conduct is used to guide behavior in the work area to ensure that diversity and tolerance is enforced. Diversity is there to help the company grow as a team and Microsoft works hard at keeping their employees and customers happy.

The Code of Conduct helps employees value each other and everyone’s differences and ensure respect is conducted in the work area.

Using the Code of Conduct helps keep a strong workforce and should be practiced on a daily basis to help maintain a positive vibe for everyone in the company.

Inclusiveness allows businesses to prosper in

the global marketplace by utilizing the intelligence of individuals from all regions.

Promotes innovation due to collaboration of individuals with varying perspectives.

Recognizes exponential growth in countries such as Asia and India and the impact those populations have on demand and buying power.

Cultural differences in the workplace may cause conflicts or misunderstandings.

Increased opportunities for discrimination. Companies may find it difficult to recognize

and value beliefs of ALL individuals. Costs of hiring diversity consulting and

training firms may negatively impact profits.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Create a setting in which employees can have open discussion about diversity so that any questions or misunderstandings can be addressed

Give employees an opportunity to suggest any recommendations or requests concerning diversity and any issues they believe are being left out

Companies may need to look for ways to cut costs in other areas of the business in order to budget for the additional expenses
