What does ethnicity really mean in terms of your programming?

With respect to working with an ethnicity you are unfamiliar with:

Don’t impose your beliefs, find someone to inform you.

Be aware of individuals in your program who may have come from different backgrounds.

Their experience might impact their approach to your program.

Try to bring diversity to your programs, a diverse program often helps most participants yield more.

We have more children from single parent families than ever before.

The number of same sex families is on the rise and it is estimated that 10% of the population are part of the Gay, Lesbian, Transgender, Bisexual (GLBT) community.

The number of second and third marriages is on the rise meaning that the dynamics of step parents/siblings and half siblings adds dynamics.
