ENTITLEMENTS***Okinawa is an administrative weight restricted location***

ACCOMPANIED TOUR-2,500 lbs. or 25% of JTR HHG weight allowance. -UB 600 lbs for member, 200 lbs per dependent over age 12 NOT to exceed 1,000 lbs.

-NTS release. Requires physical address of storage facility and destination.

*UB shipments count against the administrative weight restriction.

AW (admin wt. ) = HHG + UB

UNACCOMAPNIED TOUR (living in BEQ/BOQ) – 600 lbs. of UB and NTS release.

NAVY/DOD CIVILIANS orders will state authorized weight allowance.

***HHG + UB + NTS cannot exceed full JTR weight allowance***

ENTITLEMENTS

You may elect shipment to one of the following:

Any place in the continental united states to include Alaska and Hawaii, also known as Home Of Selection (HOS).

Place of enlistment into active duty to include U.S. Territories (i.e. Guam, Puerto Rico, etc.)

or

Non-Temporary Storage (NTS) for up to 1 year from retirement date.

**You may also ship to any location outside of the United States provided the location does not exceed your home of selection cost. You are responsible for all taxes, duties,

and customs clearance fees**

ENTITLEMENTS All shipping rights expire one (1) year from the date retirement,

except for members who qualify for an extension of the time limitation. (i.e. hospitalization, awaiting construction of a home, education)

Non-Temporary Storage (NTS) at Gov’t expense expires (1) year from the date of retirement.

NOTE: The Gov’t will only pay for NTS release shipment cost. Storage cost will be converted to member’s expense at the Gov’t

rate EXCEPT for members hospitalized or undergoing treatment.

JTR WEIGHT TABLE

WEIGHT INCREASEA weight increase may be authorized/approved in the following circumstances:

Consecutive Overseas Tour (COT). A member assigned to a COT from an UNRESTRICTED weight location to a weight restricted location may request a weight increase.

Extended Tour. The member extends a tour for one year or longer within the same weight limited area.

Acquired Dependent. Upon departure from an administratively weight-limited area if additional furnishings were acquired through marriage after the member was assigned to the weight limited area. NOTE: A member who acquires a dependent, after the PCS order effective date to an administratively weight limited OCONUS PDS, is not authorized transportation for the acquired dependent’s HHG (or an increase in weight allowance) to that PDS. ; or

Undue Hardship. Circumstances exist that would cause undue hardship if the weight restriction was enforced per the Service determination.

NOTE: The Gov’t may transport additional HHG at the Gov’t rate; but, the member is responsible for the excess weight transportation cost.

Authorized PBP&E transportation not to exceed 2,000 lbs. when the member certifies it’s necessary for official duty at the next PDS (including HOR or HOS upon leaving the Service).

Weight limitation is not subject to waiver and is effective 1 May 2014.

EXCEPTION. A member may exceed the 2,000lbs if orders were issued prior to 1 May 2014 and originally shipped at Government expense to the OCONUS PDS.

SPOUSE PBP&E. DMO may authorize a PBP&E weight allowance not to exceed 500lbs belonging to the member’s (Uniformed members ONLY) spouse.

Vehicles stored at the VPC can not be shipped directly to your duty station, only to the nearest VPC.

DEFENSE PERSONAL PROPERTY SYSTEM

Service members and civilian employees are mandated to use the DPS for all Personal Property shipments (exception to policy first time movers, retirement and separation).

ENTITLEMENT

Service members have 1 year to utilize travel entitlement.

Travel is authorized to home of selection (HOS) or place entered active duty (PLEAD).

If you choose to retire on island and adjust plans after finalization of orders please return to IPAC for amendment then come and see us for travel.

*The primary mode for all air transportation is AMC “patriot express”.*

Flights can only be viewed 90 days out.

All port calls will be held until travel is open.

If amc window is open reservations will be turned over to ipac with in 10 business days.

If amc is not available – member and dependents will fly commercially to destination.

If requested, onward travel following patriot express will booked. All onward travel will be from seattle, wa to authorized destination (i.E.

HOS or vehicle processing center)

TRAVEL RESERVATIONS

AMC CHECK-IN PROCEDURES

Early check-in times are from 0900-1800 the day prior to the flight

Passengers will be briefed on “show-time” once they have checked-in.

Check-in time on the day of the flight is from 0230-0430

Top reasons for no shows or cancelation at terminal:

Expired military I.D card

No passport (all dependents travel with passport)

Command fails to notify IPAC of legal hold

Overslept

Intoxicated

No hard kennel for pets The cost of one “no show”= $2,279.

MANDATORY REPORTING

HQMC, IPAC, and Command will be notified of all “no shows”.

COMMON ISSUES WITH AMC TRAVEL

BAGGAGE/EXCESS BAGGAGE COST

AMC: In accordance with CMC letter 4600 MMIA dated 2 Jun 2010,

you are authorized two pieces of baggage, neither to exceed 70lbs or 62 linear inches. One additional piece, not to exceed 45 linear inches, is authorized as hand carried baggage.

BLUF: (2) 70lb bags plus carry-on. Excess baggage: $120.00 per Commercial Airlines: Please contact the airlines or visit their website for additional

information on weight allowances.

TRANSPORTING PETS

PETS ARE NOT AN ENTITLEMENT Transportation of pets are limited to cats and dogs only. AMC has a total of 13 pet spaces per flight. Pet spaces are on a first-come, first-serve basis. 2 pets per family

limit. 150lbs max limit including the pet and kennel. 1-70lbs = $120.00 per pet. 71-140lbs = $240.00 per pet. Hard kennel only.

AMC IS NOT AVAILABLE

If AMC is not available: Member(s) and pet(s) will fly commercial to destination. Airlines may vary depending on final destination. 99lbs max limit including the pet and kennel.

AMC pet space will be confirmed through PTO.

Member is responsible for coordinating onward transportation.

PTO will arrange confirmation of ANA portion from Okinawa to mainland Japan.

Once confirmation from ANA is received, the traveler will have up to 24 hours to confirm their pet space from Narita to their final destination.

Once the member confirms their pet space, the pet confirmation number can be sent to PTO via email ([email protected]).
