What Channel My documentary will be shown on BBC Three. This is

because there target audience is similar to mine and BBC Three often show documentaries on there channel.

They have similar documentaries to mine for example The Rise of Female Violence. This is different to mine as mine is specifically about feminism and the causes of it.

Mine will be shown on Saturday after Russel Howard Good news at 10:30 PM BBC Three have lots of sister channels for example BBC One, BBC Two. They could help promote my documentary.

Over 9 million people watch BBC Three every week.

Channel ethosBBC Three channel ethos is to provide

"innovative" content to younger audiences, focusing on new talent and new technologies. BBC Three try new UK content rather than repeats, breaking new ideas or re-inventing exciting approaches, rather than copying old ones. I am a young UK film maker making a documentary in the UK so my position fits their channel ethos perfectly.

Target Audience The primary target audience for BBC Three are16-24 yr olds who are young in

spirit and mindset and ‘Never Afraid to Try New Things’. They target them by having a range of different programs that are aimed at a younger audience.

The secondary target audience for BBC Three are 20-25 year olds both male and female. they target them by showing more mature television later in the day.

Some examples of BBC Three programming that show this are included below.

BBC Three showcase Jack Whitehall, a British comedian who appeals to the target audience. This shows that they are following there channel ethos because he is a young comedian.

They also show Top Gear formally hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond . This attracts their secondary target audience as it is a more mature show.

Commercial viability My documentary is commercial viable because

it is a documentary that no one has made because it is a controversial topic. Fahrenheit 9/11 was the highest grossing documentary of all time, this shows that controversial topics sells more than any other type of documentary. This shows that my documentary is commercial viable because mine is about a controversial topic.
