converged technologies and networks. Hestarted his career with British Telecoms,

Alan Mayne brings to the Telecoms Academy
some twenty-one years of experience in
Telecoms and IT gained working for some of
the leading telecoms companies including BT
and Ericsson. He has worked in telecoms
training since 1998. Previously Alan has worked
as a Senior Engineer for Ericsson with
responsibility for supporting GSM Network roll-
out for one of the leading UK mobile phone
operators.
Dave McNally has gained a wealth of
experience within the Telecoms Industry
being a lead presenter in both the Faculty of
Technology and Engineering and Faculty of
Telecoms Business. His career includes working
as a Senior Engineer for Cable and Wireless.

THE CERTIFICATE WILL BENEFIT those lookingto consolidate and formalise their knowledgeof Mobile Telecommunications, or those newto the industry.
Integrated Certificate Diploma ProgrammeStudents who sign up to the Certificate programme intending to moveon to the Diploma programme can now take advantage of Telecoms
Academys fully integrated, Distance Learning programme. Theprogramme incorporates a full Certificate course with an additional 4modules from the Diploma course leading to the award of a fullDiploma. This is nominally a 10 month course with an additional 4-6weeks examination and preparation time required.
Diploma Bridging CourseStudents who have successfully completed the Certificate Programme may wishto continue studying with the Telecoms Academy and progress to the Diplomacourse. It is now possible to quickly obtain the Diploma by completing theDiploma Bridging Course, by studying 2 mandatory modules and choosing a
further two from the list of optional modules. This is a 4 month course with anexamination 1 month after studies have been completed. The successfulstudent will be awarded the full Diploma on completion.
