Natural decontamination of food

Activated water - one of the most important developments concerning metastable, harmless disinfectants for the sterilization and disinfection of food, food production-plants and drinking water. Fully natural disinfection without side effects Since years, the Management of Swiss Steriplant Ltd is dealing with the use of organic treatment of the be-coming increasingly important disinfection of food and food production-plants. It is therefore not by chance that we have been developing as pioneers the today by experts worldwide known as a revolutionary process under the name Zelgerm® (based on steam sterilization) for the natural disinfection and disinfestation of food. With its long and extensive practice in this very complex area, we are able to offer possible solutions which until recently have been described as unrealistic. In connection with this development, also stands today the revolutionary process for the so-called “wet-disinfection” based on “active water” using Diaphragmalysis. We utilize the latest capabilities of modern high-tech methods and have along with the latest technologies for the production of Steriplant N® a know-how lead to solving the most sensitive disinfection problems in a wide application field. With a considerable effort, we succeeded to create the regulatory requirements for the possible application of this- among experts- called revo-lutionary technology. Among other things, we have with Steriplant N® an officially approved disinfectant (BAG Biocidal-Approval No CHZN1017), which proved to be nontoxic for humans and animals. The respective implications, especially in connection with the by Swiss Steriplant Ltd own developed nebuliza-tion technologies ZELJET COLD STEAM and Swiss Steriplant CST are of immense importance. Interesting opportunities are mainly offered in the increasingly important room disinfection and for the treatment of a wide range of products in the food area i.a. fruits and vegetables concerning the extension of the preservation and in the necessary requirements for the bio sector. An enormous potential for application arises in the areas of fish, poultry, meat production and processing. Not less problems are also present in the dairy- and cheese in-dustry which can be solved ecologically and economically safely with Steriplant N® and with the greatest possible security for the involved parties (employees and customers). Description of Steriplant N®

Product: Steriplant N® Produced on the basis of electrochemically activated water.

Contains no substances of concern and it is for humans and animals officially confirmed absolutely harmless

Application: Disinfection of work surfaces, machinery and equipment within the

food and the pharmaceutical sector. Surface treatment of products (due to its characteristics Steriplant N® fulfilles all editions of the food

an hygiene regulations and therefore does not need any special authorization for the application on the product itself)

Efficacity: Steriplant N® eliminates all knowm pathogenic germs (bacteria

and viruses) within the absolutely short period of 1 minute, max. 5 minutes.

Advantages important: Not toxically. Not corrosive. No special protective measures (gloves

etc.) necessarily Using instruction: Depending upon range of application, dilution up to 10%. Impact time

after separate recommendation of the manufacturer Packing contents: 500 ml, 1 litre, 5 litres, 10 litres, 25 litres. Upon request, special large

containers (200 and 500 litres). Durability: Thanks to a new packaging technology (specially coated containers),

the shelf life in unopened containers is at least 6 months. After the opening the consumption within 14 bi 20 days is recommended.

Storing instruction: Steriplant N® is metastable. Therefore the effectiveness diminishes

itself slowly. Containers have to be closed immediately after use. Stored: protected from light at ambient temperature 10 to 25oC Very important: Steriplant N® should absolutely not be refrigerated!

Steriplant N® and the authorised applications actual per end of December 2009 Steriplant N®, produced by a new developed and widened ECA-procedure (electro chemically activated water) by means of a multiple chamber system. Already in the year 2004, Swiss Steriplant AG reached the registration from the Federal office for community health in Bern (BAG) of Steriplant N® in the corresponding list. It was the first disinfectant, with the title “non-toxic” Within the frame of the new EU-Biocides-regulations the product possesses of the following approvals and permits:

• Biozidal-accreditation Nr. CHZN1017 of the BAG Bundesamt für Gesundheit (= Federal office for community health) in Switzerland

• Listet among Register Nr. 933 since December 2008 in Slowenia • At the Federal office for employment protection and health: BAUA, Bundesamt für Arbeitsschutz

• Steriplant N® meets the regulations for drinking water treatment according DIN 901 which also matches the EU-regulations in this segment

Comment: Paradox is the fact, that Steriplant N® meets all requirements regarding full effectiveness of a disinfectant. Due to the special functionality and the additional positive characteristics (e.g. nontoxic, pH- neutral etc.) Steriplant N® is absolutely not declarable as a biocide in the conventional sense and therefore it should not belong in this category.
