Guiding this effort has been Dr. Wendy Raymond, Biology Professor at Williams College, which is consistently ranked as one of the nation’s leading liberal arts colleges. For nearly twenty years, Dr. Raymond has been exciting students, speaking to community audiences and developing specialized teaching and research methods for a wide range of biology topics — from the introductory course, Cells 101, to more advanced courses in Genomics and Genetics. From this unique perspective, Dr. Raymond understands the foundational work in science required by high school students to succeed in college as well as to be informed citizens.

An expert in genetic research, Dr. Raymond specializes in making biology accessible to all. In 2010, she was appointed to a committee that advises the National Science Foundation (NSF) on policies that encourage full participation of underrepresented groups — women, people of color, and persons with disabilities — in the fields of science and engineering.
