    DISCONTINUOUS FILAMENT WINDING

    PLANTS FOR PIPES

    This traditional type of the lament windingequipment allows the manufacture of GRP orGRE pipes with integral bell and spigot jointscomplying with A.S.T.M. code D 2996 StandardSpecication for Filament Wound Reinforcedthermosetting resin pipes) type 1, grade 2,class E.The winding of the laments is performedon a xed length, rotating mandrel. The rawmaterials are distributed by a carriage movinghorizontally alongside the mandrel. After theconstruction of the required pipe thickness,the pipes are subject to curing and are thenremoved from the mandrel. The pipe propertiesdepend on the raw material ratio, which caninclude silica sand, and on the winding angleof the berglass ranging from 35° to 90°.
